Ray Allen Says It’s Time For Boston Celtics Fans To “Get Over It”
Ray Allen has had enough, and now he’s firing back.
Kevin Garnett, Rajon Rondo, Paul Pierce, and other players aren’t the only people who haven’t forgave Ray Allen for leaving the team after the 2011-12 season. Celtics fans are still pissed about it, too.
The sharpshooting Allen decided to bolt in free agency and join the rival Miami Heat alongside LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh in 2012. And Celtics fans have been calling him a snake ever since.
Allen, who turned 42 on Thursday, took to Instagram and responded to some Celtics fans trashing his name, saying the following:
“Y’all need to get over it!!!” Allen wrote in a since-deleted comment. “[W]here were you all when the team tried to trade me[?]…Get over it!!!!”
