Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles lives in Florida, but somehow he wasn’t aware of the fact that it shares a time zone with New England.

Yup, really.

Granted, he plays against the Colts, Texans, and Titans, but…still. He should know these things. Doesn’t he watch TV?

When asked by a reporter (who seemed equally clueless) about how he’s adjusting to the time change while his team takes part in joint practices with the Patriots, Bortles responded with a baffling statement.

Here’s the exchange:

Reporter: Are you adjusted to the time clock change?

Bortles: Yeah, it’s kind of weird now in New England. Nobody really knows what time zone we’re in up here, so everybody just shows up pretty early.

It’s possible Bortles was joking, but it doesn’t seem like that. Not inspiring words from the team’s starting quarterback. What else doesn’t this guy know?
