Jon Jones Might Be Crashing SummerSlam to Challenge Brock Lesnar (Tweets)
Following his victory over Daniel Cormier at UFC 214, Jon Jones issued a very public challenge to Brock Lesnar. Now he may be going one step further, appearing on WWE’s SummerSlam in a sort of wrestling/MMA crossover episode.
Nothing’s official, of course, but Jones did hint at the possibility during a recent interaction with a fan on Twitter:
Soooooo you showing up ringside at Summerslam or nah?

We don’t know what that response actually means, but we do know that if an athlete of Jones’ stature is interested in doing something, they can normally make it happen. So it certainly wouldn’t surprise us to see him make an appearance at SummerSlam. Lesnar will be there for sure, defending his Universal Championship in a four-way match that night.
If Jones does show, it may be a precursor to a fight that’s way off, because, as Jones recently stated to Good Morning America, “It might be a while” before Lesnar can fight in the UFC again.
I guess we’ll have to wait and see how this one unfolds. But if Mayweather-McGregor can happen, I certainly wouldn’t count out the possibility of a Jones-Lesnar bout in the very near future. Stay tuned.
