Tennessee Titans v Oakland Raiders

Coming off a promising 2016 season where the franchise saw their first winning record since 2002, the Oakland Raiders were looking to up their play even more and take a huge leap in 2017. That leap got a little harder after cornerback Sean Smith was arrested on Thursday and charged with felony assault, according to TMZ.

“Officials say Smith attacked his sister’s boyfriend on July 4 — beat and stomped on his head in Pasadena in the early hours.

He’s been charged with felony assault by means of force likely to produce great bodily injury and battery with serious bodily injury.

If convicted, Smith faces up to 7 years in state prison.”

Smith just signed a $40 million contract last season.
