Two Chicago Bars Support Colin Kaepernick, Boycotting NFL By Not Showing Any Games
Colin Kaepernick may be without a job, be he is not lacking support as he continues to fight against social injustices, all while waiting until a team calls him for a potential job.
Until that happens, at least two Chicago area bars, which are near Soldier Field where the Chicago Bears play, will be supporting the free agent quarterback as they won’t be showing any NFL games this season until he is signed.
“Two Chicago bars near Soldier Field have pledged to stand in solidarity with free-agent Colin Kaepernick and boycott the NFL.
Velvet Lounge, 67 E. Cermak Road, and Bureau Bar, 75 E. 16th St, announced Wednesday in two identical Instagram posts that they will not broadcast NFL games until Kaepernick’s situation is addressed.
“The [bars] will be supporting Colin Kaepernick’s cause and will not be showing any NFL games until something changes,” both bars wrote in the picture’s caption.”
