REPORT: Kristaps Porzingis Skipped Exit Meeting After Jeff Hornacek Called Him A ‘P*ssy’
When you deal with different athletes, you’re going to deal with different personalities, and not everybody can take criticism the same way.
New York Knicks head coach Jeff Hornacek played during an era where you could say anything and not many would be offended or have their feelings hurt. But we’re in a different time, and players are a lot more sensitive today.
According to a report by Peter Vecsey, Knicks star Kristaps Porzingis skipped out on his exit meetings a few months ago because of what the head coach had to say about how he was playing on the court.
“Willy Hernangomez is Porzingis’ best friend on the team, and at one point, Hornacek reportedly cornered the Spanish big man and told him to tell Porzingis to stop “stop playing like a pu**y.” That led Porzingis to skip out on his exit interview and basically shut down any relationship with his head coach.“
Porzingis was also irritated that Hornacek would ride him so hard, but would never utter a word towards Carmelo Anthony.
