2017 NBA Rookie Photo Shoot

A few days ago, a clip was released in the first episode of ‘Ball In The Family.’ It showed Los Angeles Lakers rookie point guard Lonzo Ball having a candid conversation with a friend behind the camera about rap music. The friend stated they would get him to listen to some real hip-hop, like ‘Nas.’

Lonzo stated Nas was outdated and nobody was listening to him in the current generation.  He also said guys like ‘Future’ and the rap group ‘Migos’ are ‘real hip-hop.’

“Someone off-camera says they’re going to get Lonzo to listen to some “real hip-hop,” to which he replies “That’s not gonna happen.” Then he piles on, saying “Y’all outdated man. Don’t nobody listens to Nas no more.” Finally he adds “Real hip-hop is Migos and Future,” while mimicking the stop and go flow of the day.”

After various people on social media took shots at the rookie, including rapper T.I.P and Lil B, Nas’ manager eventually took to social media and delivered some savage shots at the 19-year-old kid.

Bay area rapper Lil B has already threatened to curse the Lakers point guard if he continues to disrespect the greats of hip-hop. This wasn’t Lonzo’s first time stating something controversial, as he took to Twitter a few weeks ago to say that rapper ’21 savage’ and his album ‘Issa’ was better than Jay-z’s album ’4:44′.
