James Worthy Says It’s ‘Ludicrous’ for Kevin Durant To Take His Showtime Lakers Spot (VIDEO)
Since bolting from the Oklahoma City Thunder to join the Golden State Warriors and winning his first NBA title, Kevin Durant has been extremely active on social media. This summer, he’s been more talkative than he’s ever been since joining the league.
The NBA Finals MVP stated that he would’ve loved taking Big Game James’ spot in an imaginary re-designed Showtime Lakers roster during an interview on Bill Simmons Podcast.
The Golden State Warriors forward claimed he would swap out the Hall of Famer for himself, to be able to play next to Magic Johnson. Those comments didn’t sit well with the Lakers legend.
TMZ recently caught up with the Hall of Famer, who wanted to know, “why me?’.
“Durant has always been one of my favorite players and that’s it,” said Worthy initially. “I don’t pay attention to the nonsense.”
“I think it’s ludicrous,” he said. “I don’t know how he came to that conclusion, but I disagree.”
“I don’t really pay attention to any of the millennial players and their thoughts about our time. They just need to hang on to what they got now and move forward. Just don’t include us, because it’s a different era.”
