REPORT: Cleveland Cavs Have Offered Their Brooklyn Nets Pick, Iman Shumpert For DeMarcus Cousins
One week after sending Kyrie Irving to the Boston Celtics in exchange for a package of Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic, the Nets’ 2018 first-round pick, and the Heat’s 2020 second-round pick, the Cavs are reportedly back on the market trying to flip one of their draft picks for another big name player.
The Cavs have already fielded calls about the Brooklyn pick, and one such rumor has them offering that coveted Nets pick (that will probably be in the top-3) along with Iman Shumpert, in exchange for the New Orleans Pelicans’ DeMarcus Cousins.
Report: Cavs, Pelicans have discussed a deal for DeMarcus Cousins that would send Shumpert & Nets 1st round pick to NO.

That first-rounder could be the piece to persuade LeBron to stay after the 2017-2018 season, as it can be flipped for a huge name that can help keep the Cavs afloat if LeBron does indeed bolt once again.
Isaiah Thomas’ hip injury could keep him out until the All-Star break. He’s also in a contract year, so there’s no guarantee the point guard would re-sign with the Cavs—especially if the best player in franchise history bolts for the Lakers, as many rumors have suggested he will indeed do.
