Steph Curry is a noted Carolina Panthers fan, and just before he watched his team demolish the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, he sent out a message in support of Colin Kaepernick.

On his Instagram story, he had a picture of Levi’s Stadium with the caption, “#FreeKaep.”

Colin Kaepernick still remains without a squad to call his own after his national anthem protests from the 2016 season. Kaepernick’s apparent replacement, Brian Hoyer, threw for just 105 yards and an interception as the team failed to even score in the first half—something they didn’t do for the entire 2016 season.

Before the game, the Golden State Warriors star also spoke to the Charlotte Observer and voiced his support for the quarterback.

“He definitely should be in the NFL. If you’ve been around the NFL, the top 64 quarterbacks, and he’s not one of them? Then I don’t know what game I’m watching.

“Obviously his stance and his peaceful protest when he was playing here kind of shook up the world, and I think for the better. But hopefully he gets back in the league – because he deserves to be here and he deserves an opportunity to play. He’s in his prime and can make a team better.”
