Advanced Copies of NBA 2K18 Accidentally Reveal New Alternate NBA Jerseys for All 30 Teams (Pics)
The NBA’s highly anticipated apparel partnership with Nike begins this season, and every uniform in the league is getting at least a slight tweak. Also getting a slight tweak is the uniform nomenclature. As of 2017-18, home and road uniforms will be called “Association” and “Icon” uniforms respectively. Meanwhile, the third or alternate jerseys will be called “Statement” jerseys.
No, I’m not kidding. Yes, this is very silly.
Anyway, with the start of the 2017-18 NBA season just one month away, every team has already unveiled its “Association” and “Icon” jerseys. However, very few have officially unveiled their “Statement” jerseys.
There’s no need for an official unveiling now, though. On Wednesday, all 30 of the new Nike “Statement” jerseys were revealed by Australian Twitter user @JMoneyMikita, who somehow got his hands on an advance copy of NBA 2K18.
Most of the new alternate—sorry, I mean “Statement”—jerseys are pretty straightforward. However, there are a few that stand out, for better or worse. Here’s a sample:
As you can see, the Warriors are going with a “Game of Thrones”-looking logo on the front of their “Statement” jersey. Meanwhile, the Timberwolves are doing their best Seattle Seahawks impersonation, and the Trail Blazers are trying to look like a soccer team.
You can head on over to SportsLogos.net to see all 30 “Statement” jerseys.
