Tom Brady, Onetime Trump Fan, Calls Out President On His Comments
Eric Decker’s Wife Says Her Husband Was Tricked Into Titans National Anthem Protest
The President of the United States got up on stage in front of a group of people and a bunch of cameras on Friday night and said anyone who kneels during the national anthem is a “son of a bitch.” As a result, the number of NFL players kneeling during the national anthem tripled on Sunday. However, in an effort to avoid division and controversy, some teams opted not to take the field for the national anthem at all.
One of those teams was the Tennessee Titans. After the game, they issued a statement explaining that the decision to stay in the locker room was not intended to be disrespectful.
“The players jointly decided this was the best course of action,” their statement read. “Our commitment to the military and our community is resolute and the absence of our team for the national anthem shouldn’t be misconstrued as unpatriotic.”
Unfortunately, not everyone’s buying that explanation.
Country singer Jessie Decker, wife of Titans wide receiver Eric Decker, is one of them. She wants her patriotic fans to know her hubby was tricked into protesting the national anthem.
“My husband was not made aware it was time to go out for the game,” Jessie said. “Unfortunately a decision was made for him without him knowing.”
Personally I find it hard to believe that the entire team conspired to trick Eric Decker into skipping the anthem, or that he would not have heard anybody discussing anything. But I will concede that stranger things have happened.
In any case, on Monday morning Jessie Decker later made her feelings about the national anthem known with a lengthy Instagram post, to which Eric replied, “Preach baby.”
One of my favorite things to do is sing the national anthem. I think about my dad, my uncles, my cousins, both grandfathers who fought in the Vietnam war. I think about how my grandfather paw paw Tim would ask me to sing this song for him every time I saw him and how he would make me turn the other way to sing it so he could just weep and cry as hard as he wanted because it meant so much to him. I think about all of our troops I got to visit with and spend time with in the Middle East when I went over seas to sing for them. I think about all of the men crying because they missed their wives so much, or the man telling me he hadn’t seen his baby girl yet since she was born. When I sing this song I think about them. This song is about them. It’s not about me. That’s what I think about every time I sing it. I love our country so much. And we should all love and respect each other because this is the greatest country in the world. I see the love. I see the unity in all walks of life on a daily basis and It makes me so proud to be an American….. so In the words of Forrest Gump. That’s all I have to say about that.
Let’s see what twitter had to say…
Wait – so a singer can weigh in on politics but not an athlete? she can exercise her free speech but not a player? I'm a repub but that's BS

But her husband was one who participated though. I love how we ignore the true issue at hand
