Extra Security Placed Near Ray Lewis Statue After 62K Sign Petition To Remove It For Kneeling During Anthem
Bar Owner Creates Offensive Doormat Using Marshawn Lynch, Colin Kaepernick Jerseys
If you ever wondered why Colin Kaepernick kneeled during the National Anthem all last season and why many players are doing it this season, it’s because of stories like this.
One Missouri bar owner, who is clearly not a fan of Colin Kaepernick, found himself in hot water recently when he taped two NFL jerseys side-by-side on the ground for his customers to use as a doormat directly outside of his establishment. This wouldn’t be such an issue if it wasn’t for the players that he used and the way he strategically placed those jerseys to read something.
One jersey was of Oakland Raiders RB Marshawn Lynch and the other was of former San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick, and together the makeshift doormat read “Lynch Kaepernick.”

The bar owner, Jason Burle, told KOMU-TV that “it’s not a race thing.”
“I commend (NFL players) for what they’re doing, as far as the right (to protest) goes,” Burle said. “I fought for that right. The same thing that gives them that right gives me the right to place these (jersey-concocted doormats) out here.”
