Dolphins Coach Adam Gase Says Players Must Stand For Anthem or Stay In Tunnel
Approximately 24 hours after Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones stated any player disrespecting the flag from hear on out would be benched, the Miami Dolphins have decided to draw their line in the sand about the anthem as well.
Miami Dolphins head coach Adam Gase reportedly implemented a team rule for players to either stand on the sideline for the national anthem or stay in the tunnel.
“It comes from me,” Gase said during Monday’s press conference. “I thought it was time for us to address it. I’ve had a lot of conversations with a lot of people. It doesn’t matter what I think. This is what we’re doing.”
So far, that’s the Redskins, Cowboys, and now the Dolphins who have implemented a National Anthem rule to curtail the uproar from their fan bases and possible losses in revenue from advertisers.
