For the Seattle Mariners fans or opposing fans who have visited the surroundings of Seattle’s Safeco Field fairly recently, you may have noticed something missing from the iconic statue that sits outside.

Someone actually had the nerve to walk up to the statue of former Mariners outfielder and Hall of Famer Ken Griffey Jr. and it looks like they sawed off the bat he was holding and took it for whatever unknown reason.

Thankfully, it didn’t take long to solve this mystery, as the Seattle Police department announced they recovered the stolen property and had the suspect in custody.

“Officers investigating vandalism to Ken Griffey Jr. statue outside Safeco Field. Suspect arrested, bat recovered. Will update soon.”

Griffey was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2016.
