Former Jets Kicker Trolls Current Jets Kicker With Video Of Him Making Kicks In The Rain (Videos)
New York Jets kicker Chandler Catanzaro went 2-for-4 during his team’s 25-20 loss to the Atlanta Falcons in the rain at MetLife Stadium on Sunday. While he made two kicks from 43 and 46 yards, he also missed kicks from 46 and 48 yards.
Those missed kicks weren’t exactly gimmes. However, Catanzaro was 6-for-8 on kicks between 40 and 49 yards coming into the game. So some folks wondered if the rain had something to do with his substandard performance.
That certainly appeared to be the case with former Jets kicker Ross Martin. An undrafted free agent, Martin spent each of the last two preseasons with the Jets, but ultimately lost the kicking job to Nick Folk in 2016 and Catanzaro in 2017.
After the Jets’ loss on Sunday, Martin trolled the sh*t out of Catanzaro and the Jets by posting a video on Twitter that showed him making three consecutive 50-yard kicks in the torrential rain.

In a subsequent tweet, Martin insisted that he was not trying to throw shade at Catanzaro or the Jets:
To be clear: My video had NOTHING to do with the Jets or the game. I’ve been posting workout videos on Sundays, and today it rained all day

Martin’s agent probably told him to say that. It may even be true. But personally, if I were an NFL GM, I’d like Martin more if I thought he was trolling the Jets. It shows he has a competitive edge. Plus, who doesn’t like making fun of the Jets?
