On Sunday night, the MLB did something they haven’t done in a very long time and that was beat the NFL in ratings.

They not only beat the NFL. They trounced them with ease.

The thrilling Game 5 of the World Series between the Houston Astros and Los Angeles Dodgers reportedly drew a 12.8 overnight, which easily topped the 9.4 overnight rating for the Steelers’ win over the Lions on NBC.

The overnight rating for Fox’s World Series Game 5 last night was 36% higher than NBC’s “SNF,” according to Austin Karp of Sports Business Daily. The ratings for Lions-Steelers was also the lowest Week 8 “SNF” figure since it began going head-to-head with the World Series in 2010.

The World Series game 5 also reportedly peaked at a 14.5 overnight rating from 11:30 to 11:45 p.m. ET.
