Most Cavs Players Weren’t Interested in Dwyane Wade; LeBron Didn’t Care
LeBron James and Dwyane Wade may be buddies, and there’s a certain value to keeping the NBA’s biggest star happy, but amid the offseason turmoil in Cleveland, other Cavs players weren’t so excited to get the fallen star on their squad.
Speaking to The Athletic, LeBron said he really didn’t care what other people thought about Wade’s recruitment.
“There was a couple guys with it,” James said. “But it wasn’t a lot.”
The fact Wade wasn’t openly embraced bothered James.
“I still know what he’s capable of doing. Why wouldn’t you want another guy in the locker room that brings a championship mentality and a guy who can still play?” James said. “So, of course, it bothered me, but f*** it. It is what it is.”
OK, then. It’s moves like this that really shed light on why Kyrie may have taken off for greener pastures.
