Working your ass off to get to the big stage, only to lose in the dying seconds, can draw a bunch of emotions from athletes. Sometimes those emotions can get the better of them.

Lias Andersson let his emotions control his actions and he’ll likely regret this for a long time.

At the 2018 World Junior Championship on Friday night, Team Canada scored the gold medal-winning goal with 1:40 left to ultimately defeat Sweden. It was a tough pill to swallow for the Swedes, who went on to suffer their first loss of the entire tournament.  For Sweden’s captain, Lias Andersson, he’ll remember this game forever. He got so upset after the game, he hurled his silver medal into the crowd.
