REPORT: Ronda Rousey Might Team Up With The Rock For WrestleMania 34 Match
When it comes to the MMA world, Ronda Rousey already made her impact on the business as she became one of the most feared women to step into an Octagon—before she was ultimately defeated in back-to-back bouts.
The world of wrestling is her career now, after she signed a full-time contract to be with the WWE. She even hinted that a bout at Wrestlemania might be on the horizon after making an appearance at the Royal Rumble.
To make sure they capitalize on how huge Rousey’s celebrity is, the WWE is reportedly planning on teaming her up with The Rock to face off against another well known duo at Wrestlemania 34, according to MMAFighting.com.
“According to sources in WWE, the company is attempting to put together a match with Rousey teaming with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson against Stephanie McMahon and Paul “HHH” Levesque for WrestleMania on April 8 at the Mercedez-Benz Superdome in New Orleans. The idea of the match was first designated for WrestleMania 32 in Dallas in 2016.
The four did an in-ring angle at WrestleMania 31 on March 29, 2015. at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. Stephanie had slapped Johnson, who wouldn’t hit a woman. Rousey was stationed at ringside in the stands and Johnson brought her in the ring to attack McMahon and give HHH a judo throw.”
What isn’t clear is if The Rock has accepted this potential bout yet. He hasn’t wrestled in a significant match since 2013 at WrestleMania 29, when he suffered legitimate torn muscles in a match, causing a delay in the filming of his movie Hercules.
