REPORT: Conor McGregor & Floyd Mayweather in Preliminary Talks for MMA Bout
If there’s a chance to make a large sum of money, Floyd Mayweather has proven he will jump on that opportunity, no matter what the risk. Up until now, Mayweather hasn’t really had to deal with any risk inside the ring because, as his record tells us, he’s come out victorious every single time—50 times to be exact.
After defeating Conor McGregor last year and making a stupid amount of money, many wanted Floyd to cross over into MMA and fight McGregor on his turf, but no one expected it to actually happen.
The same type of chatter was heard when rumors flew of McGregor stepping into the boxing ring, and look what happened. Now, it turns out the two sides are actually in talks of a rematch, and it’s going to happen in the Octagon this time.
According to boxing expert Gareth A Davies, talks are underway for a lucrative MMA bout which which could be worth up to half a billion dollars.
Speaking to Jim White on talkSPORT, Davies exclusively revealed: “My soundings are that there are a lot of talks going on in the background, there are a lot of talks around people with Mayweather.
“There are a lot of talks about him potentially having an MMA fight with Conor McGregor.
“Conor McGregor had no chance in a boxing match with Floyd Mayweather.
“People will tune in to see Mayweather get stopped by Conor McGregor and it won’t affect his boxing record.
“I think it’s going to happen and I think it will be a three, four, five hundred million dollar fight again.”
If half a billion is on the line, I’d fully expect Floyd to jump on this. A losing record in MMA will have no effect on his boxing record.
