Olympic Hero Maddie Rooney Gets Brilliant Wikipedia Update After Backstopping U.S. Women to Ice Hockey Gold (PIC)

Last February Maddie Rooney was playing for the Minnesota Golden Gophers, and almost nobody knew who she was.

That all changed on Thursday.

Rooney, the starting goalie on the U.S. Women’s Olympic Hockey team, played out of her mind in the Women’s ice hockey final against Team Canada in Pyeongchang, helping Team USA win its first gold medal since 1998.

It wasn’t just the final save of the shootout, either, though that was pretty clutch:

So what’s Maddie Rooney, who is just 20 years old, going to do now that she’s an Olympic hero? Well, according to Wikipedia, she’s already been promoted from starting goalie on the U.S. Women’s Olympic Hockey Team to…United States Secretary of Defense.
