REPORT: Atlanta Falcons Among Many Teams Discussing Trade For Michael Bennett
Last week, a report surfaced that the Seattle Seahawks were entertaining any offers for Michael Bennett. It didn’t take long for them to find a cast of suitors willing to jump on the opportunity.
The Atlanta Falcons are said to be one of many teams that are interested in the Seattle Seahawks DE’s services, according to ESPN’s Vaughn McClure.
“Source tells me the Falcons are one of multiple teams discussing a Michael Bennett trade with the Seahawks. Nothing imminent but will be interesting to see how it all unfolds.”
Bennett started all 16 games in 2017 and had 40 combined tackles and 8.5 sacks. He was named to the Pro Bowl for the third consecutive season as a result.
The nine-year veteran still has three years left on his contract, and is owed $1.6 million in base salary and holds a $7.3-million cap hit for the 2018 season.
