Dodgers’ Kike Hernandez Uses Yodelling Walmart Kid for Walkup Music (Video)

Kike Hernandez Yodelling Walmart Kid Walkup Music

All professional athletes like expressing their personalities. They just do it in different ways.

NFL players do it with custom pregame cleats. NBA players do it with their pre- and postgame wardrobe. And MLB players do it with their walkup music.

So what does Los Angeles Dodgers utility man Kike Hernandez want fans to know about him? Apparently he wants them to know that he loves memes. Because Kike Hernandez’s walkup music is the Yodeling Walmart Kid.

Have a listen:

The baseball season is still young, but if there was an annual award for Best Walkup Music I’m pretty sure Henandez would have it wrapped up. Nobody’s going to beat Yodeling Walmart Kid.

For those of you who for some reason do not spend most of your waking hours on social media, Yodeling Walmart Kid is 11-year-old Mason Ramsey. Earlier this month Mason posted a video of himself singing Hank Williams‘ “Lovesick Blues” at a Walmart in Harrisberg, Illinois.

For obvious reasons, the clip went viral and the kid became an instant meme.

Thanks to Yodelling Walmart Kid, “Lovesick Blues” has rocketed up the Spotify charts. And earlier this week he even appeared on the Ellen show.

Honestly, it’s almost surprising it took somebody this long to use Yodelling Walmart Kid for their walkup music.
