REPORT: Browns GM John Dorsey Won’t Tell Hue Jackson Who They’re Taking With No. 1 Pick
The 2018 NFL Draft gets underway on Thursday, but nobody has any idea who the Cleveland Browns will select with the no. 1 overall pick.
And I do mean nobody.
According to Browns blogger Kyle Kelly, who cited The Athletic reporter Zac Jackson as his source, Browns general manager John Dorsey won’t tell Browns head coach Hue Jackson who he’s going to pick until the night before the draft.

Think about this for a second. The general manager of this football team doesn’t want the coach to know who he’s picking. Could be Baker Mayfield. Could be Josh Rosen. Could be Saquon Barkley. Hue Jackson HAS NO IDEA.
There are really only three possible explanations for this. (A) John Dorsey doesn’t think Hue Jackson can keep his mouth shut. (D) John Dorsey isn’t sure Hue Jackson will be coaching the Cleveland Browns next season. Or (C) John Dorsey doesn’t even know who he’s going to pick.
Of course, seeing how this is the Browns we’re talking about, the answer could very well be (D) all of the above. However, Hue Jackson seems pretty convinced it’s number three.
Hue Jackson said anyone who thinks John Dorsey has made a decision on which QB to draft is wrong. “I laught at that. I talk to John Dorsey 5 times a day. If there was a consensus with John Dorsey, he would have told me by now. That’s not the case.”

At this point there’s only one thing we know for sure. As any Browns fan will tell you, whatever decision John Dorsey makes, it will end up being the wrong one.
