Former NFL Player Throws God-Awful First Pitch That Rivals 50 Cent’s (VIDEO)

At long last, 50 Cent‘s reign as the king of awful ceremonial first pitches has come to an end. And ironically enough, his successor is a former professional athlete.

Akbar Gbaja-Biamila, who spent five seasons in the NFL as a defensive end for the Raiders, Chargers, and Dolphins, is now the co-host of American Ninja Warrior. On Thursday, he was given the honor of throwing out the ceremonial first pitch at Citizens Bank Park prior to the Phillies’ 6-3 win over the Giants. And wow did he screw it up.

The windup started out fine. Gbaja-Biamila got his leg nice and high. It looked like he knew what he was doing. But he really didn’t. Unaccustomed to throwing off a mound, the slope seems to have screwed up Gbaja-Biamila’s mechanics, so that by the time he released the ball everything was all out of whack.

In the end, instead of floating into the Phillie Phanatic’s mitt behind home plate, the ball hit the grass in front of the plate and bounced 10 feet wide.

Take a look:

Congratulations, Fiddy. There’s finally somebody out there as bad as you.
