Pictures leaked just days after the Penguins won the Stanley Cup.  Teammates photographed Sidney Crosby sleeping with the cup, also snuggling up with it!  He is one classy captain and hockey player, and after seeing this, all you ladies out there might want to snuggle up with Sidney after seeing him snuggling with the Cup.  It looks like he spoons really well!

This was a huge surprise to Carbonneau considering the Habs ended a two game losing streak with a 3-1 victory over the Dallas Stars.  Also surprising is that assistant coaches Doug Jarvis, Kirk Muller and Roland Melanson will not be fired and will stay behind the bench.

Carbonneau, who was in his first head coaching job, had a 124-83-23 record in two-plus seasons with the Habs. He’s the seventh NHL head coach to lose his job this season.

We believe that this game will be a battle between offense against defense.  The Pittsburgh Steelers this year have the AP Defensive Player of the Year James Harrison and the overall No. 1- ranked defense in the NFL.  There offense was steady, but the Steelers “D” kept them in the games all season.  The Steelers will also have the home crowd advantage in this game, the loud fans will definitely disrupt the Chargers QB Philip Rivers.  The season Pit finished 6-2 at home.

They will be facing the San Diego Chargers an offense who’s missing one of the best running backs in the league, LaDanian Tomlinson. The Chargers will now have to rely heavily on Darren Sproles, the 5-foot-6 running back who piled up 328 all-purpose yards last week and scored the winning touchdown on a 22-yard run in overtime.  Sproles rushed for 105 yards on 23 carries.  Darren Sproles has become a nice replacement for L.T. as he has been hampered with injuries all season.  We’ll just have to wait and see if he can run through the #1 defense in the league.

We believe that the Steel curtain will be too much for the Chargers this Sunday.

Philadelphia Eagles at New York Giants (-4), 1:00 p.m. EST

Consequently, the New York Giants only really have to deal with one standout back and must stop Brian Westbrook.  Westbrook is a machine on the field as he can run and catch the ball, this past season being injured for 2 games this season he still piled up 936 rush yards and 9 rush touchdowns, in the air Westbrook went for 402 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns.  A pretty impressive campaign considering he was plagued by injuries.

We believe the Giants will be able to stop Donovan McNabb and Brian Westbrook this coming Sunday, with the help of the home crowd.  We should see a Giants win here.

A Lot of the players are not happy because Therrien called them out in front of their peers saying their playing terrible.  Mario Lemieux (Penguins Owner) has stated that missing the playoffs is not an option and there needs to be changes.

You can’t trade the team, so coach Michael Therrien will probably first to go.  Mario Lemieux as the interim head coach, a possibility.

NHL In Europe

The NHL Overseas has a lot of people wondering why they keep going to Europe.  They make no money out there and it is soon to be a dead issue between NHL commissioner Gary Bettman and NHLPA Executive Paul Kelly.

Marian Gaborik vs. GM Doug Reisborough

Marion Gaborik “The Glass Man” and The Minnesota Wild feud intensified as he told G.M. Doug Reisborough that he is going to have hip surgery now instead of waiting until the season is over.  Gaborik found out that he was being shopped around by Reisborough and he was not happy.

So rather than playing out the year and then having surgery he decided to have it now.  He does not want to play for the Wild and he is a free agent come summer time.  He does not want to get traded because he does not want the Wild to get anything in return. This is why he decided to go ahead and have the surgery because by the time he heals (10 weeks), it will be just in time for the trade deadline and who is going to want a player coming off hip surgery?  He is basically doing this in spite.

The Portugal wingers Ferrari collided with a roadside barrier in a two-lane tunnel near Manchester Airport, police said.

Ronaldo (23 year old European Player of the Year) escaped with no injuries.  Also the police gave him a breathalyzer and he blew a negative.  Officers said there will be an investigation of the crash.

“He’s fine and is training as normal with the team this morning,” Manchester United said.

Photographs showed the front of the Ferrari completely crushed after the crash.  The front left wheel was blown off the car.  No other vehicles were involved in the crash but police said United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar was traveling behind Ronaldo at the time which could have been a really bad situation if van der Sar would have collided with him.

Maybe Edwin van der Sar and Christiano Ronaldo were racing?  There were no reports on this, but may just be a possibility.

Here is another case where a high profiled athlete crashes his really expensive car driving to fast.  On Sept. 29, 2003, Dany Heatley crashed his Ferrari killing long time friend and teammate Dan Snyder.  He was also speeding.

This is the problem with giving all this money to these young kids.  What do you expect them to do.  Of course their going to buy fancy cars that have alot of horsepower, of course their going to speed and this is whats going to continue to happen!

With all the money Christiano Ronaldo has, there is not need to repair the car.  He probably will just go out and buy another new Ferrari.

Well, to me, this makes no sense.  Why is he doing anything before a playoff game?
