One Game Down. Many More to Come
So for those of you who sat down to watch the first game to kick off the 2008 nNFL season, many may have come out disappointed (unless you were like me and had Burress on your fantasy roster). A game that started off fast ended in what seemed to be slow motion. A low scoring game with little excitement left us with many questions to ponder and little answer to give, but here are some things that we can conclude on based on this one game alone:
1. The Giants aren't no one year wonder.  While they failed to continue their dominance after taking absolute control after the first quarter, they were sharp on defense and their offense did just enough to limit the amount of time their defense spent on the field thanks in large part to the holes opened up by thrie line to make room for Brandon Jacobs, who was the equivalent of a mack truck tonight (just ask any Redskin player who tried to tackle him).
2. Jim Zorn has quickly lost confidence in Jason Campbell. When your team is losing by two scores with 6 minutes remaining, how to you justify calling running plays unlessthey are to gain the remaining one or two yards on short yardage plays. Well someone should ask Zorn this because thats exactly what he did when his team was in desperate need of a score. He may have gotten lucky once due to a facemask penealty, but to call a running play immidiatly afterwards seemed rather stupid in the eyes of me and probabely the many others hoping for a Redskins comeback. Campbell may have had a rough start, but if u want to win at the end of the game you have to have confidence putting the ball in the hands of your quarterback.
3. Plaxico Burress may be one of the best first half performers in the NFL. For those who dont remember, Plax torched the Cowboys in their opening week game for 3 tds and well over 100 yards. While he didnt put up the tds like last year, he definatly made some great catches in key moments and helped the giants on many of their scoring drives (especially the first one that produced their only touchdown). How long will he keep his up for? That is the question that many Giants fans are looking for the answer too, but as long as he is healthy you can count on him and Eli to make several connections down field.

We are only one game in but already there are many questions to be raised. The bar has been set and the defending superbowl champs came out with a strong effort. now with Snday approaching, the next question shoud be:

NHL Rumors, Who’s On Their Way Out?
August is usually the slowest time of the year for rumors, but there have been a few flying around the last few days that I think we should talk about.
Bryan McCabe waives his NMC to go to Florida
I don't doubt for a second that he has waived it, however there is a clause in his contract that says at the beginning of September he will receive a bonus of $2 million from the Toronto Maple Leafs. So unless something can be worked out where the team trading for him agrees or is allowed to pay him that bonus, don't expect a trade to be made official until September. Also, don't expect Jay Bouwmeester to be coming to the Leafs in return. This guy is going to be a Norris trophy candidate one year and the Leafs just don't have enough assets to trade for him. In fact, expect this trade to be more of a incentive for Bouwmeester to stay in Florida because the only reason he wants to leave is he feels that they aren't playoff contenders. They have a good starting goalie with a solid defense core, all they will need to work on is putting the puck in the net. The addition of Stillman should help, I can see him doing well as the go to guy and with an expanded roll, expect Horton to thrive.
Mark Parrish is Vancouvers' "Plan B"
There is no surprise here as he would never have been their Plan A. Vancouver needs a player to be "THE GUY" on that team. They have some guys that can be secondary scorers but lack the consistency and presence to be a #1. The twins are probably the closest to fit that mould but seeing as they haven't been able to take "the next step" since taking over from the famous Naslund - Bertuzzi era..has the Canucks organization concerned.
Mathieu Schneider to Ottawa
The Sens only have five defenseman under contract and one of them is the rookie Brian Lee. Mezsaros is asking for a ton of money and Ottawa won't budge. That's not a situation that the Sens are comfortable with. I can see them dangling Chris Neil as bait and I think he would be a good fit with Anaheim's aggressive style of play. If this rumor comes to fruition, it would be a good trade for both teams.
Hemsky/Higgins deal and Nylander on the move
I can see the Edmonton Oilers being interested in Chris Higgins as he is an Oiler type of player, but I don't know why the Habs would be interested in Hemsky. If this is true, it has to be a plan B incase the habs don't land Mats Sundin, in which case I totally understand. As for the Nylander rumor, maybe he likes to invest and flip homes in his spare time...Not likely! After the Capitals played extremely well without Nylander during the second half of the season, and the re-signing of Sergei Fedorov, I think the writing is on the wall for Nylander's departure. Will the Oilers have any hard feelings after they thought they had signed him during the off-season before he bolted to Washington for more money?
hmmmm....Things could get interesting in the coming weeks.

Professional Athletes Homes - Grant Hill
Part 1 of Professional Athletes Homes
Our first house on our list has yet to be completed. With an estimated building cost at $11,500,000, this magnificant 22000 square foot house sitting on 4 plus acres inlcudes endless bedroom's/baths, an infinity pool, 8 car garage and a full sized basketball court sitting below the ground with full arena seating. We also forgot to mention the 8000 square foot guest house and the 1000 square foot guard/security house.
Wouldn't we all love to live in somehting like this and have our own basketball mini arena attached to our house? This house belongs to basketball player, Grant Hill of the Pheonix Suns.
Nestled in a secluded and prestigious area just 35 minutes from downtown Phoenix and American Airlines Arena, the cheapest house is $2,300,000 in this subdivision. The only problem here is that the roads have yet to be paved. What will he do when hes driving his Ferrari!!!!
The Front Entrance, Gates will be up infront of the house.

Arizona Diamondbacks Game At Chase Field
Total Pro Sports ventured out to the Arizona Diamondbacks versus the Pittsburgh Pirates game this past Wednesday. We watched Brandon Webb pitch a gem, and just roll through the Pirates lineup like he was throwing to a bunch of house leaguers.Â
The game went a whole hour and 54 minutes, one of the fastest games I have ever been to. The atmosphere was good, and there were 25,000 fans in attendance. For a team fighting for 1st place, you would think they would have had more fans at the game. "See Blue Jay fans, our team is in 4th place and we get the same attendance."Â
Chase Field, I have to say, is one of the best ball parks I have been to and in my top 10 of MLB best parks. You feel like your at a baseball game when your at the stadium. Even though they have a retractable roof because the Arizona heat is just to unbearable, you would never know that you were inside. Why is this not the case with the concrete dome in Toronto? I guess the architects thought the more conrete the better! Evenmore, the hallways at Chase Field makes you feel like your at a ball park, you do not feel like your stuck in an underground subway station, lined with concrete walls. We all know it gets cold in Toronto, but lets be realistic.  With the structures they are building today in Dubai, your telling me architects couldn't find a way to keep the ballpark feeling, in a colder climate? and we payed something in the range of $500,000,000 to build this hunk of concrete.
They have also just recently upgraded there scoreboard in center field, now having the largest in the Majors. Sorry Toronto, the Jumbotron is no longer jumbo!
Tickets were reasonably priced for $44, we sat 11th row in between first base and the corner in the outfield. If you ever are in the greater Phoenix area and a sports fan, I would suggest you try to catch a game.
