College Football Power Rankings: Week 7

Total Pro Sports - A big week for a few notable teams this week in our College Football Power Rankings for week 7, the Texas Longhorns upset the Oklahoma Sooners in the game of the week. The Longhorns have claimed the No. 1 spot this week but have Alabama and Penn State hot on their heels.

Penn State has looked very good this year and has thus far rolled through the schedule with ease. Their balance on offense and intense defence makes them front runners for a run at the National Championship. The Gators have also played themselves back into Orange Bowl conversation with a monster win against LSU. The Oklahoma State Cowboys have shown the country that they have the team to contend with. Texas Tech continues to put up a bunch of points and Graham Harrell is playing like a Heisman candidate, as that offense cannot be stopped.

Our biggest winners this week in our College FOOTBALL Power Rankings, were the Oklahoma State Cowboys moving up 7 spots after a big win against Missouri. The Nittany Lions moved up 4 spots to no. 3 and the North Carolina Tar Heels and Michigan State climbed 4 spots respectively.

Our biggest losers this week in our college Football Power Rankings for week 7 were Missouri Tigers dropping 8 spots to #10, They lost a big home game to the Oklahoma State Cowboys. The Commodores lost 6 spots this week to move down to 21 and in danger of dropping out of the rankings.

1	6-0	3	The no. 1 spot has changed again, after falling behind a very good Oklahoma football team 14-3, the Longhorns got a huge kickoff return touchdown from Jordan Shipley. Trailing nearly the entire game the Longhorns were able to put together a strong fourth quarter and rally to beat the Sooners. Up Next: Missouri Tigers
2	6-0	1	A week off and they move up 1 spot in the rankings all is good for the Tide. Up Next: Mississippi Rebels
3	7-0	4	They made me eat my words this week, as I said it would not be easy to win at Camp Randall Stadium. The Nittany Lions started the season outranked, after watching them this year we all wonder how that could have been. The absolutely throttled the Badgers on their own field. Up Next: Michigan Wolverines
4	5-1	4	A few weeks ago they lost a heart breaker to the Rebels, the season looked lost for the Gators, however, a few weeks later and a huge win against an undefeated LSU team, the Gators are back in the hunt for a bid at the National Championship. Up Next: Kentucky Wildcats
5	5-1	4	What a game they played at the Red River Rivalry. Oklahoma was bidding for an undefeated season, that has all come crashing down a week after losing to rival Texas the Sooners must get their thoughts together as they host a strong Kansas Jayhawks team next week. Up Next: Kansas Jayhawks
6	4-1	-	They continue to play well as they shut out an Arizona State team led by a good senior quarterback. Don't quit on the Trojans they may be a surprise for a big Bowl game. Up Next: Washington State Cougers
7	6-0	2	The game seemed to be wrapped up for the Red Raiders until the fourth quarter when Nebraska posted 21 points and forced overtime only to see the game end on a defensive interception. Up Next: Texas A&M Aggies
8	5-1	2	The Bulldogs defence showed up again this week, they held the Volunteers to just 1 yard rushing, 45 total offensive plays and only 10 first downs. Up Next: Vanderbilt Commodores
9	6-0	7	Two weeks ago the Cowboys were not even in the Top 25, this week they have reached the Top 10. After beating Missouri on the road they have shown the nation they are for real and should not be taken lightly. Up Next: Baylor Bears
10	5-1	8	A tough loss to the Oklahoma St Cowboys has the Tigers Championship hopes in serious jeopardy. The Tigers did not look the same on offense, they were not in sync and the big plays were just not there this week. Up Next: Texas Longhorns
11	6-1	-	The Buckeyes have reeled off 4 straight wins since their road loss to USC. The Buckeyes are getting it done with old fashioned, hard nosed defence. Up Next: Michigan State Spartans
12	7-0	-	The Utes continue to remain undefeated and are 5 wins away from a perfect season. The toughest tests will be home games against TCU and BYU. Up Next: Colorado State Rams
13	6-0	-	The Cougars are looking better on defence each week than they are on offense. That is very surprising considering they are known for their air attack. They have their toughest challenge next week when they travel to TCU. Next: Texas Christian Horned Frogs
14	5-1	-	The Jayhawks are nearly unbeatable at home rolling off 13 straight wins, they used a 14 point fourth quarter to ice the game this week. Big game next week against an unhappy Sooner team. Up Next: Oklahoma Sooners
15	4-1	10	The cats were liking their wounds after being demolished by the Gators in the swamp. LSU lost by a stunning 30 points this week and the defence surrendered 51 points and 475 yards of total offense. Up Next: South Carolina Gamecocks
16	5-1	4	Who are these guys? They don't have their starting quarterback and are still pulling out wins against notable opponents. This week they beat the Irish thanks to a well played second half, and Cameron Sexton played arguably his best game of the season. Up Next: Virginia Cavaliers
17	6-1	4	6 straight wins for the Spartans and a share of the Big 10 lead at 3-0. They wore out the Wildcats this past week led by Heisman candidate Javon Ringer. Up Next: Ohio St Buckeyes
18	5-0	-	The game this week was basically decided ib the second quarter as Boise put up 24 points and sailed to a 24-7 win over Southern Mississippi. Up Next: Hawaii Warriors
19	5-1	2	Bye week. Next Up: Boston College Eagles
20	5-1	1	Bye week. Up Next: Syracuse Orangemen
21	5-1	6	Was it too good to be true? I don't think it was they are still a good football team, however, they must be better on offense. 1-10 on third down conversions and 107 yards of total offense is not going to get it done against anybody. Up Next: Georgia Bulldogs
22	4-1	-	Bye week. Up Next: Navy Midshipmen
23	7-0	1	If they continue to win this team may finish the season ranked for the first time in it's history. What a feel good story this team is, after Dante Love's career was ended this season you know that team is extremely motivated to appear in a big bowl game. Up Next: Eastern Michigan Eagles
24	5-1	1	Bye week. Up Next: Rutgers Scarlet Knights
25	4-1	NR	Riley Skinner was much better this week as Wake Forest was able to end their losing streak to the Clemson Tigers thanks to a big fourth quarter. Up Next: Maryland Terrapins
