NFL Power Rankings: Week 8

Total Pro Sports - Some major changes in the middle of our NFL Power Rankings this week.

The Tennessee Titans are again the #1 ranked team in our NFL Power Rankings with a tough win against the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts kept the game close in the first half, but then it was all Titans the rest of the way. The Titans continue to rill both on offense and defense, now that there 7-0 and beating legitimate teams when will people start taking this team seriously?

The biggest loser this week was the Jacksonville Jaguars losing to the Cleveland Browns, which saw them drop 6 spots to #19. What was thought by most Jags fans to be a big year and a run for the Super Bowl, is slowly fading away as the Jaguars slip beneath .500 to 3-4.

The Arizona Cardinals were the second biggest loser of the week losing 5 spots to #12, after loosing to the surging Cleveland Browns. The Cardinals blew this game after holding a lead for most of the game.

The biggest gainer of the week were the Dallas Cowboys who jumped 7 spots to #8, with defensive win over the Bucs. The Cowboys finally played some defense and won a game for their team this week, the Cowboys offense was non existent against the Bucs.

The Baltimore Ravens seem to be back in business after winning back to back games. Joe Flacco is proving all doubters why he is the leader of the team and their future. The Ravens were our second biggest gainer in week 8 of the NFL Power Rankings gaining 5 spots from #21 to #16.

It seems after week 8, teams are finding their stride and getting positioned properly in there deserving spot on the NFL Power Rankings. The top teams are staying and the middle to bottom teams are makign the most moves.

1	7-0	-	Sometimes it's not what the quarterback does it's what he doesn't do, and Kerry Collins did not turn the ball over as the Titans rolled to 17 fourth quarter points and beat the Colts on Monday night. Up Next: Green Bay Packers
2	6-1	-	The Giants played a perfect road game in beating the Steelers this week in Pittsburgh. The game turned in favor of the Giants when the long snapper was injured and forced James Harrison in that role. A bad snap, led to a safety and the Giants were able to score a touchdown on the following drive. The Giants defense was stellar again this week intercepting Big Ben 4 times. Up Next: Dallas Cowboys
3	5-2	-	The Steelers let one slip through their hands this weekend. They came up with a goal line stand early in the game and held the Giants to four field goals before giving up the only touchdown with 3:11 remaining in the game. Up Next: Washington Redskins
4	6-2	1	The score was no indication of the way the game was played on the field. The Redskins dominated every aspect of the game taking whatever they wanted from the Lions defense. Up Next: Pittsburgh Steelers
5	6-2	3	The Panthers got off to a slow start but picked it up coming out of the tunnel at halftime, scoring 21 points in the third quarter and holding on to win. Up Next: Bye
6	5-2	3	The Patriots may not have taken the Rams too seriously without Stephen Jackson but their lucky to walk way this week with a victory. This game should have been a note to the rest of the NFL, the Rams are not that bad. Up Next: Indianapolis Colts
7	5-2	3	What has happened to the Bills in the last three weeks? They get blown out in Arizona, they win impressively against the Chargers and this week they lose to the Dolphins. They must find the same consistency as they had the first 4 weeks. Up Next: New York Jets
8	5-3	7	The Cowboys didn't look good on offense once again this week, however, their defense finally rose to the challenge and stifled the Bucs offense. Up Next: New York Giants
9	5-3	3	Disappointing performance against an injury riddled Cowboy team this week. The Buccaneers should be able to get back in the win column next week. Up Next: Kansas City Chiefs
10	4-3	-	A week off. Up Next: Detroit Lions
11	4-3	3	Coming off a bye week and a healthy Brian Westbrook the Philadelphia Eagles put together a stellar game against an improved Falcons teams. The Eagles went for 432 total yards and 1 interception. The biggest player on the field was Brian Westbrook, rushing for 167 yards and 2 touchdowns. If the Eagles can stay healthy they can easily be Super Bowl contenders. Up Next: Seattle Seahawks
12	4-3	5	The Cardinals could not hold a 17-3 lead against the Panthers, losing the game 27-23. Kurt Warner had a good game going 35-49, with 389 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. The Cardinal rushing attack was held to only 50 total yards, 30 of them by wide receiver Anquan Boldin. They better find a way to get their run game going or they will slowly slip. 13	4-3	1	A week off. Up Next: Tennessee Titans
14	4-3	3	2 out of 3 members of the Big 3 showed for the loss against the Eagles. Michael Turner was held to 17 carries, 58 yards and no touchdowns. Look for the Big 3 to have a monster game next week against the Oakland Raiders. Up Next: Oakland Raiders
15	4-3	1	A week off. Up Next: Miami Dolphins
16	4-3	5	Did you think the Ravens would lose to the lowly Raiders? Well if you did then you should start watching another sport.....Try Cricket!!! Joe Flacco continues to improve and putting all doubters aside that he can quarterback an NFL game. Up Next: Cleveland Browns
17	4-3	2	The Jets squeaked out a last minute drive to hold off the Kansas City Chiefs. There was no reason for keeping the Chiefs in the game this long. The Jets need to worry about reducing the amount of turnovers each game. Up Next: Buffalo Bills
18	4-4	2	It didn't matter that Reggie Bush did not play and that they were playing this game at Wembley Stadium, the Saints still won the game 37-32. Up Next: Bye
19	3-4	6	A loss to the Cleveland Browns drops their overall record below .500 to 3-4. The Jaguars had their chances to win the game but blew 2 opportunities to take the lead. Playoff hopes are slowly slipping away. Hopefully they can rebound against the "Bungals" Up Next: Cincinnati Bengals
20	3-4	2	San Diego flew overseas to play this game against the Chargers in London, England. They put on a show for the London fans, with a combined 860 total yards on offense and 69 total points. The only problem was the Chargers came out with a loss. Up Next: Bye
21	3-4	4	A tough match up this past week against the #1 ranked team in league the Tennessee Titans. They held a league going into half time 7-6 but could not hold the Titans off the rest of the game losing 31-21. A must win for the Colts who now move to 3-4. There playoff hopes are slowly slipping away. Up Next: New England Patriots
22	3-4	-	A week off. Up Next: Houston Texans
23	3-4	-	The Browns got off to a slow start this season but are now 3-4 and trying to turn the season around. Look fro the Browns to make a last minute push for the Playoffs. Up Next: Baltimore Ravens
24	3-4	3	The Dolphins handed the Bills with their second loss of the season. Lead by there QB Chad Pennington who went for 22-30, 314 yards and 1 touchdown. This game puts the Dolphins 1 game under .500 and keeps there hopes up for a playoff appearance. Up Next: Denver Broncos
25	3-4	1	The Texans won there third game of the season holding off the lowly Bungals. Up Next: Minnesota Vikings
26	2-5	-	The Rams lost, Surprising?????? Up Next: Chicago Bears
27	2-5	2	An easy win over a hurting 49ers team. Seneca Wallace had a nice day 15/25, 225 yards and 2 touchdowns. Most of those balls went to Leonard Weaver, thats right Leonard Weaver. Weaver helped the Seahawks win their second game catching the ball for 116 yards and 2 touchdowns. Up Next: Philadelphia Eagles

30	1-6	-	Almost won a game away from home but let the Jets have a last minute drive to win the game. Up Next: Tampa Bay Bucs
31	0-8	-	The Bengals or Bungals who knows, they lost again to the Texans. Up Next: Jacksonville Jaguars
32	0-7	-	That's 0-7 with another loss to the Redskins, there hopes for a perfect season continues. Up Next: Chicago Bears
