Peyton Manning Wins Third MVP Trophy

13

Peyton Manning MVPTotal Pro Sports - On Friday the NFL awarded Peyton Manning the Most Valuable Player (MVP) Trophy, his third trophy in his career.  Manning has tied Brett Favre for most MVP Trophies in a career, and will probably break the record in upcoming years.

Peyton Manning destroyed the field this year in the MVP voting.  The second place finisher Chad Pennington of the Miami Dolphins he beat by 24 votes.

We were definitely were right on the money when we predicted our list of possible NFL MVP candidates almost 2.5 weeks ago.  We had Peyton Manning #1 and Adrian Peterson, James Harrison and Kurt Warner who also all received votes this year.

AP NFL MVP voting
Player Team Votes
Peyton Manning Colts 32
Chad Pennington Dolphins 4
Michael Turner Falcons 4
Adrian Peterson Vikings 3
James Harrison Steelers 3
Philip Rivers Chargers 2
Chris Johnson Titans 1
Kurt Warner Cardinals 1

"It's been the most rewarding regular season that I've been a part of in my 11 years, and I have to believe a lot of the other players and even coaches might feel the same way."

"I really accept this award on behalf of the team and the organization because there is no way we would be in the playoffs and bounced back without those three people creating a winning environment," said Peyton

It's definitely nice to see Peyton Manning back on top in the NFL.  After leading his team like a true warrior he is, to 9 straight wins and into this years Playoffs, we think that Peyton Manning hands down is this years NFL MVP.

Now well just have to wait and see if this story has a fairytale ending and the Indianapolis Colts can win this years Super Bowl.

I would of liked to see Kurt Warner win this year

    2. Yes sorta he did bring his team back nicely

i also liked micheal turner of the falcons

    3. NO, I Think Michael Turner deserved NFL MVP

    4. I like Chad Penn better cause the Dolphins won the division and it has been forever since they did that.

    5. I don’t think he should have won it because he didn’t do well in the early season, however the last 9 weeks have been very impressive.

ya im glad he won it

    7. I’m happy he won again. He deserved it

Nope. I love how the media complains when an athlete “points to himself”, by telling said athlete that it’s supposed to be about “TEAM”. Then goes out and gives awards only to the players who have the ball in their hands…..how ’bout some love for a lineman every once in a while or a defensive player. Manning had no better a season, (statically anyway) than Phillip Rivers.

No, I don’t agree. He’s not that great; he’s a good quarterback but he didn’t deserve MVP again this year. How about Kerri Collins for the Titans or Matt Ryan for the Falcolns? They brought their teams way farther than Manning; I think they should be recognized as MVP.

Peyton is the best quarterback right now. hands down. But he didnt need it this year.

I would be a toss between Adrian Peterson and Michael Turner. Both are insane runners.

All u guys r right but lets not forget the Panthers Deangelo Williams with his break out year

    12. said 3 weeks ago it was Adrian Peterson, but his late season fumblitis makes me say, Michael Turner edges out James Harrison it Pittsburgh and Andre Johnson in Houston. I love defensive players especially when they put up sick numbers and standout on a team loaded with talent. Harrison would have been a great pick.

Peyton struggled early and has a great team around him, Brett and Warner bombed late, and Chad was a product of a gimmick offense and Brown at back. Collins had a great D and two great backs, and Eli was great, but not even his team’s MVP.

Turner helped keep the pressure off Ryan and enabled him to learn the offense without being double covered down the field.

    13. I don’t really agree with it…

Why not give it to a defensive player? Offensive players get too much credit it seems.

I would of went with James Harrison… 100+ tackles, 16 sacks, lead the league w/ 7 forced fumbles… all in 15 games
