Has Kenny Tran Gone Broke?
Total Pro Sports - If you are a true fan of poker then the name Phuong "Kenny" Tran aka Sick Call Kenny should be familiar to you. Tran is a young phenom of the game, he began playing poker in 1992 at a bowling alley while working at Mcdonald's. He has come a long way since then, devolving his game in California, Tran is now synonymous with poker. Tran has had success at all the high stake limits he plays, and can normally can be found playing some of the biggest games the Commerce Casino in Los Angles has to offer.
Kenny Tran began playing tournaments in 1999 and has eight World Series of Poker cashes, including winning a bracelet in the $10,000 Heads-up No Limit Holdem event this year.
Online Kenny Tran has been known to play the highest and deepest stakes at Full Tilt Poker, but this past week he has been spotted playing the micro stakes online. From 0.05/0.10 cents all the way to 0.5/1 dollar, we really don't understand why he is playing so low?
Could it be possible that the infamous Kenny Tran is broke? Well if he is you heard it first at Total Pro Sports.
There could be many reasons why Tran he has been playing micro stakes online at Full Tilt Poker. Either someone in his family is using his account, he is teaching someone how to play the game, or he wants to take some time away from the high stakes game, mingle and have some fun with the low stakes players.
Remember poker is a very stressful game when your not running good. So taking sometime away from the high stakes game is a great way get your mind back on track. At times Kenny Tran could face multi-million dollar swings, and let me tell you this can be very stressful.
We hope all is well for Kenny as he is a great person and well rounded professional poker player. If anyone may know please keep us informed.

i actually sat in one time when i seen this and talked to him. turned out to be his wife. he lets her play but only low limits.
He has invested in bananas quite heavily and can’t afford to play the same games, apparently.
ive played in the games with him and he says that he doesn’t want to risk a lot of money and just wants to get his hourly from FTP
The reason he does it? He has a contract to play 30 hours. FTP doesnt say where or how to play, just play 30 hours (a week) and your an FTP pro and you get paid. He said he makes enough a month to cover his living expenses.
I have played with the man too, seems like quite a friendly guy as I took a few pots from him
i have ran into kenny tran on myspace poker palace and that is a free poker app. but alot of ppl dont think it is him so i asked him why would he be playing here and his response was “when ur down 200k in this year alone you tend to come to these sites to get your feel back cause a good poker player always plays good” so i dont think hes broke but i bet losing 200k can make you not play for real money or low stakes lol!
he was playing 100/200 nl at wynn and Venetian this summer during the series..
