Luca Caputi, Welcome To The NHL

0

Total Pro Sports-  Even though the Pittsburgh Penguins lost to the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday night, there was one bright spot.  Rookie Luca Caputi, scored his first ever NHL goal.  Caputi, who is from Toronto, was only in the lineup because Tyler Kennedy was serving a 1 game suspension for fighting Luke Schenn.

Caputi appears to have all of the skills necessary to succeed in the NHL, he also has great size (6-foot-3).  The Pens have been looking for forwards to step up all season to provide a spark for the teams struggling offense.  Caputi may be exactly what this team needs to make it back to the playoffs, but they will need other players to step up as well.

I expect the Penguins will be one of the busiest teams in the league again this year at the trade deadline.  Last year they were in a much better position in the standings and managed to pull off one of the biggest trades, by landing Marion Hossa.  They will have to look at the possibility of moving some of their young defensemen for some more help up front, if they want to make a serious playoff push.
