Boeing 747 No Match For A Porsche 911 GT3 Carrera Cup Car

Total Pro Sports - We are all aware of the high speeds that planes and jets are capable of traveling at.  If you don't just ask Saints running back Reggie Bush.

A Jett Airlines Boeing B747 jetliner was set to put its runway supremacy up against the challenging Porsche 911 GT3 Carrera Cup Car driven by Yuey Tan at the Changi Airport.  With the anticipation building, the fans counted down the final seconds before the green light went and the race began.

The Porsche got off to a quick start, as you would expect, and never relinquished the lead, just beating out the giant jetliner.  In case you were wondering whether the plane was actually going at its top speed, your question would be answered moments after both competitors crossed the finish line as the Boeing took off into the air.  Its speed was enough to send it flying, but not enough to outrace the Porsche on this day.

So what's next for the 911 GT3 Carrera in its bid to claim supremacy as the fastest thing on wheels?  We aren't sure if Ken Block's Subaru WRX has what it takes to compete, but that Ferrari bread car seems like it may have the right weight and aerodynamics to pose a challenge.

I wonder whats the 0-60 time of the plane…Didn’t look that fast from far away.

    2. damn that car was fast

    3. This a BS comparison.

Of course the Porsche is going to win. Who does these anyway? Brain dead a**holes? The engine of the jet isn’t designed for fast take offs it’s designed to produce large amounts of torque to move a big friggin’ jet down the runway. ANd it’s not at cruising speed when it gets down the end anyway.

So does the Porsche fly? No? Idiots and the waste of time and money to even bother with S*** like this.

    4. What a bunch of crap! What about going against a DIFFERENT Boeing? An F/A-18 Hornet, a fighter jet of the U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels? Motor Trend magazine put a Corvette ZR-1 against a Hornet. It was the magazine’s cover story, August 2009, and you can see a video at motortrend.com.
