Oregon Ducks LeGarrette Blount Punches Boise Player In The Face [Video]
Breaking News: Oregon Ducks RB LeGarrette Blount has been suspended for the season.
Total Pro Sports (By Adam Best "FanSided") - Two great teams from the Pacific Northwest squared off tonight during the onset of yet another college football season. Boise State beat Oregon on their home blue turf, 19-8. But that's not what you're going to hear about. What you're going to hear about is the time typically reserved for post-game handshakes and sportsmanship.
Boise State defensive end Byron Hout started taunting Oregon running back LeGarrette Blount after the game. Little did he know, Blount is a walking time-bomb, one that can go off at any minute. His coach even suspended him earlier this summer for behavioral issues. A Boise State coach tried to stop Hout from talking smack, but it was already too late. Blount absolutely leveled him with a jab that would have made UFC Middleweight Champ Anderson Silva proud.
Blount wasn't done, though. Far from it, actually. He then went after his teammate before being restrained. Next, he channeled his inner Ron Artest and damn near charged into the stands, that is until an Oregon coach was barely able to pull him back. Finally, it took a brigade of Ducks to escort him back to the locker room, as Blount was still completely out of control. I think it's safe to assume that we won't be seeing Blount on a football field anytime soon.

Throw this guy in jail. Charge him with felony assult. It does not matter if he was on a football feild or not. He clearly waited till Hout was looking away before he punched. Let the “tough guy” see what it’s like in jail. Suspension is not enough. They should boot this guy out of the school. These fucking allstars think they can do anything they want. We saw Blount several times on the bench during the game, and it was clear that he was very affected by the difficulties the Ducks had on the field to get back to score.
Hount had certainly noticed that, and that’s why he pulled Blount’s leg about it. Not very clever…
Anyway, Blount is a senior this year, and he certainly ruined his career with his unacceptable behavior. That’s not clever from him either.
Of course, he has to be punished for his behavior, but don’t treat him like a criminal and don’t ruin his entire life.

Kicking him out of school is a bit excessive, suspend him for half the season community service and anger management, Hout needs to be suspended as well. Emotions run high during these rivalary games and that needs to be taken into consideration also. And for all of you with the racial slurs very unneccesary!

When Blount hit Houte; it was in response to some racial comments that were allowed to continue through out the game, that is the rumor at least…. Some think Houte should file assault charges and it stands that if that is the reasonable thing to do….. Boute should file assault charges on the: Boise State Fan Who Hits Legarrette Blount…. And perhaps he should be 86ed from the stadium for the remainder of the football season….. Because this is a poor example of how an adults should deal with their frustration…. I had to stop reading the comments because at the point that they become a person affront on a YOUNG MAN- racial slurs, all out idiom from people who should be grown is going too far. Blount was out of line. Blount should be punished. University officials have stepped up and done what they thought was appropriate. Blount is a 20 year old KID, who messed up big time on a national stage and the fact of the matter is his life is changed because of it. We have NO RIGHT to go after this young man personally. Stop the racial slurs- period!

Not that #9 was right for throwing a punch, but at some point you had better mind what you say or there will be a price to be paid. I lost a lot of respect for Chris Petersen for not suspending his kid for any games. There was a cheap lesson to be learned there and he failed to teach it.
