The Stat Line of the Night – 11/05/09 – Carlos Boozer

0

carlos boozerLet's just say Carlos Boozer hasn't exactly been the most popular player in Utah this season.  He has been booed intermittently throughout the first few games, and even received a chorus of boos when he missed his first shot of the night.  The booing stopped after that.

The Jazz came into this game with only 1 win in their first 4 games and were desperate for a victory to stay competitive.  They ended up beating the Spurs 113-99.  While the entire team finally played with some energy, Carlos Boozer was the major factor in the win.  He had 27 points, 14 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 2 steals to lead the Jazz.  The real great thing to see for Boozer was that he got the 27 points on 12/20 shooting.  Going into last night he had been shooting 35%, and this was a welcome change.  The Jazz are going to need to play a lot better if they want to compete in the stacked Western Conference.  Deron Williams also had a good night, and the Jazz will need him as well.

As Boozer enters a contract year this season, all eyes in Utah and throughout the NBA will be monitoring him closely.  he is essentially playing for a new contract, and nights like last night will only serve to help his cause.
