The Stat Line of the Night – 11/11/09 – Richard Jefferson

0

Richard JeffersonWith Tim Duncan and Tony Parker sitting out the game against the Dallas Mavericks, the Spurs needed someone to step up and carry the load on Wednesday night. A loss to Dallas would leave the Spurs under .500. A win and they stay close to the top of the Southwest division. Enter the newest Spur, Richard Jefferson.

On a night when his team needed him to do it all, Jefferson did just that. He took the offense in his hands and put on quite a show, leading the Spurs to a 92-83 victory. He threw down dunks, drained some threes and scored 29 points overall. He also added 7 boards, 4 assists, 3 steals and a block to fill out the scoresheet.

It gave the Spurs their second win in a row, and this meeting with the Mavs was completely different than the first round of  last year's playoffs. The Mavs rolled through the Spurs in that series. But not Wednesday night. Richard Jefferson's performance helped the Spurs remain undefeated at home and he has The Stat Line of the Night for 11/11/09.
