Joe Calzaghe A Fraudulent Legacy?

November 16, 2008

Joe CalzagheTotal Pro Sports - Joe Calzaghe defeated Roy Jones, taking his record to 46-0 and cementing his legacy as the best super-middleweight in the world. However the 0 on his record does not tell the whole story about his fraudulent legacy as he hasn’t fought the top fighters in their prime.

Agreed the fact that his record does boast the names of Roy Jones and Bernard Hopkins and he has remained undefeated for 18 years means he should achieve recollection but he shouldn’t attain the status of the best boxer Britain has produced or top 3 in the pound for pound rankings. Joe has achieved these current adulation's because of his victories over a 43 year old Bernard Hopkins, a 39 year old Roy Jones Jr who both floored him despite their age, and the vastly overrated contenders in Mikkel Kessler and Jeff Lacy.

Can David Haye Breathe Life Into The Heavyweight Division?

November 16, 2008

David HayeTotal Pro Sports - Britain’s David Haye announced his arrival in the heavyweight division with a devastating fifth-round knockout of Monte Barrett at the O2 arena in London.

Haye was fighting for the first time since demolishing Enzo Maccarinelli for the WBC, WBA and WBO cruiser weight world titles, knocked down Barrett four times before ending the fight with a powerful right-left combination in the fifth round. His opponent had done well to last as long as he did, somehow climbing off the canvas twice in both the third and fourth rounds.

David Haye has big ambitions to reignite the heavyweight division and has done his chances of facing either of the two Ukrainian world champions Vitali or Wladimir Klitschko no harm, with such a stunning performance over a seasoned heavyweight in Monte Barrett, who had previously fought Wladimir Klitschko in 2000, were he was also knocked out, that time in seven rounds.

Evander Holyfield To Face Nikolai Valuev

October 9, 2008

Evander HolyfieldEvander Holyfield to fight Nikolai Valuev for WBA World Heavyweight Title

Is this guy really serious?  Evander, please wake up.  Your 46 years old and you want to fight a 7ft, 320 pound Russian monster "Nikolai Valuev" (49-1, 34 KOs).  I know your 6' 2" and about 215 pounds, and you think your in good shape, but come on Evander, your 46 years old.  Don't you want to live your life peacefully after 50, with just a few health problems?

Your only getting $750,000 for this fight, and i know somone has to pay the expenses for you luxurious 54,000 square-foot suburban estate in Atlanta, Georgia.  This fight has the potential for Evander Holyfield to get really hurt, and cause more damage to an already battered body.  He already can barely talk with all the head shots that he has received over the years, at times he sounds like daffy duck.

I think the boxing commission should step up here and just tell him that he is not allowed to fight.  If not the boxing commission, then his family should just say no to this fight.

Evander you had such a great career, end it on a high note.  Not one that can potentially ruin your life forever!

Mike Tyson at Pure!

July 2, 2008

Mike TysonTeam Total Pro Sports has been in Las Vegas for the past 2 weeks and we decided to go to Pure last night after a fantastic Sushi dinner at the infamous "Naked Fish".  If anyone hasn't gone there, it's a must for sushi lovers.  As we were talking to the door man, "Booozey", so we could bypass the line, a big man with a tattoo on his face came steaming through.  In that high pitched voice, "Coming through, coming through, move out of the way!" Mike Tyson said.

If you haven't seen Mike in a while, he has gotten really big.  Nowhere near fighting shape, it looked as if he had 2 watermelons stuck on his ass.  But he still is Mike Tyson, once the best heavyweight fighter in the world and maybe ever.  But as everyone knows, he could still kick the sh@# out of anyone in his way.
