College Football Power Rankings Week 12

Total Pro Sports - The Crimson Tide are rulers of the nation and No. 1in our College Football Power Rankings, after controlling much of the second half with their bruising ground attack.

The Florida Gators have blown out their sixth consecutive opponent, this week they handed their former coach Steve Spurrier his worst loss ever, smashing the Gamecocks 56-6. The Gators are waiting for one of the top 2 teams to stumble which would open the door for them to sneak into the Orange Bowl.

There is a dandy of a game next week when the Texas Tech Red Raiders travel to Norman to take on the Oklahoma Sooners. That game has huge implications on what the National Championship setup will look like. Both teams feature high scoring offenses, Heisman candidates at the quarterback position, play-making wide receivers and the ability to entertain the fans like no other teams can.

College Football Power Rankings Movers And Shakers

Green ArrowOur biggest movers this week in our College FOOTBALL Power Rankings, were the Oregon State Beavers moving into to our power rankings this week. The Beavers moved up 6 spots to number #19 this week after beating California.

The LSU Tigers and the Cincinnati Bearcats are second biggest mover this week, moving up 4 spots.

The LSU Tigers moved up to #20 from last weeks ranking of #20.  The Tigers came back from being down 28 points to Troy.  The Tigers can't wait for the season to end.

The Cincinnati Bearcats moved to #16 this week and now sit atop the Big East.

Red ArrowOur biggest shakers this week in our college Football Power Rankings for week 12 were the North Carolina Tar Heals.  The Tar Heals lost 8 spots from #17 to #25 after losing to the Maryland Terrapins.

UFC 91 Draws $4.8 Million At The Gate

Brock Lesnar ChampionTotal Pro Sports - Last nights "UFC 91: Couture vs. Lesnar" which took place in Las Vegas, Nevada at the MGM Grand.  Drew a sold out crowd of 14000 plus fans, according to UFC President Dana White reported during his press conference after the event.

This was the 11th time in UFC history that an event was held at the MGM Grand.  Dana White promoted this event as the biggest fight in UFC history. Untrue to his words "UFC 91: Couture vs. Lesnar", drew the fourth largest attendance total in the 15 year history of the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Lets take a look at last nights UFC 91 results from all of yesterdays matches.

  • Brock Lesnar beat Randy Couture (second-round TKO, strikes)
  • Kenny Florian beat Joe Stevenson (first-round submission, rear-naked choke)
  • Dustin Hazelett beat Tamdan McCrory (first-round submission, arm bar)
  • Gabriel Gonzaga beat Josh Hendricks (first-round TKO, strikes)
  • Demian Maia beat Nate Quarry (first-round submission, rear-naked choke).

Overall the UFC 91 was a succesfull one, It was one of the quickest and most action-packed cards that we can remember.  We'll just have to wait and see what a major superstar ex- WWE Superstar Brock Lesnar can do for the UFC.

College Footall Heisman Watch: Wide Recievers

Michael Crabtree1. Michael Crabtree (Texas Tech Red Raiders) - In what has been the game of the year so far in college football Michael Crabtree was the biggest star. He showcased his skills on prime time in the win against Texas making the game winning touchdown catch with 1 second left on the clock and sending all of Lubbock, Texas into mayhem. This NFL ready wide receiver leads the country in touchdown receptions with 18 and is in the top 5 in receiving yards with 1010. Crabtree and the Red Raiders hold a berth into the National Championship game in their own hands, if they can win out they will be playing in Florida in January.

Top Heisman Running Backs Candidates:

Javon Ringer1. Javon Ringer (Michigan State Spartans) - Michigan State is 9-2 for the first time since 1999 and atop the Big 12. Javon Ringer has been instrumental to the Spartans success, carrying the ball on average 32 times a game and 99 rush attempts ahead of the next nearest back at 353. This gives the Spartans a clock eater in the backfield. Ringer also leads the country in rushing touchdowns with 20 and rushing yards with 1548. His stock also rises if they can manage to beat PSU in the season finale and win the Big 12 for the first time since 1990. If Ringer does turn out to be only a runner up in the Heisman race he is still going to make a great NFL back with his workhorse numbers.

Fantasy Football Players Of Week 10

Julius PeppersTotal Pro Sports- Hello fantasy fans, can you believe its week 10 already and the Titans are still undefeated. They are looking like the team to beat in AFC especially after the Colts beat the Steelers.

Finally, there was good game on Sunday night as the Giants and Eagles had a prime time slug fest. The Giants definitely look like the cream of the NFC crop and look like they intend on defending their title.

What a week for fantasy football as more than a few players put up some monster stat lines. Thomas Jones and Maurice Jones-Drew both found the end zone 3 times and Adrian Peterson tore up the Packers to lead the Vikings to a big divisional win. Lets see which players made our list this week.
