Andrea Bargnani For Josh Howard?
January 7, 2009
Total Pro Sports - Thanks to an inside source of the MLSE, the owners of the Toronto Raptors, Toronto Maple Leafs and the Air Canada Center. They have confirmed reports that the Raptors have begun negotiations with the Dallas Mavericks. These negotiations have also been confirmed at Hoopsworld.com.
The deal being reported would send Josh Howard, Antoine Wright and DaSagna Diop to the Raptors for former first overall draft pick Andrea Bargnani and Anthony Parker to Dallas.
Josh Howard would fit nicely in the Toronto, with Bryan Colangelo's uptempo type teams. A no brainer for the Raptors, especially considering they are in need of a small forward/shooting guard. The only part of this deal that does not make sense is why would the Dallas Mavericks be interested in Andrea Bargnani. A similar but underachieving version of Dirk Nowitzki who both play very little defense.

Baron Davis Denies He Wants Off The Clippers
December 30, 2008
Total Pro Sports - Back and forth they go. Last week there were reports that Baron Davis wanted out of Los Angeles, now today he is denying all those reports.
We see why he would want off an 8-21 Clippers team struggling to stay in games. But going back to the Golden State Warriors is no improvement they are only 10-23 coming off their 10th win last night against the Toronto Raptors.
This is definitely not the end of it, we should hear more of this in the upcoming weeks.

Where Will The Rest Of Baseball’s Free Agents Land?
December 22, 2008
Total Pro Sports - So far the New York Yankees have flashed huge money at free agents, well over 200 million dollars to be exact, but don’t take that as proof that Baseball is safe from this economic recession we are going through. The Yankees may have shelled out that kind of outrageous money, but realize that their payroll is actually going down heading into 2009. Once Mark Teixeira signs look for players to have to settle for a lot less than what was first expected.
Let’s take a look at who’s still available, where they might sign and for how much.
Mark Teixeira, First Base - Teixeira has the best agent in the game in Scott Boras, but even he can’t get clients what they want in this economic time. He tried to bluff the Red Sox and it seems to have backfired. The Angels have stated they are out of the running because Owner Arte Moreno (easily the best owner in all of baseball) feels he’s being used by Boras to drive up Teixeira price. Teixeira has stated he wants to return closer to home on the east coast. This leaves the Orioles, Nationals and dark horse Yankees as teams in the running. Only the Yankees in that group offer a chance at winning in the near future other than the Red Sox.
Who he will sign with? New York Yankees or Boston Red Sox
The Yankees have to realize that if they sign Teixeira, it leaves the Red Sox with no other option on the market who will make a significant impact. The Sox will not sign Manny, who is the only other big power hitter on the market. If the Yankees were to sign Teixeira they would deal a serious blow to the Sox, and easily regain the pre-season edge in the AL East. On the other hand the Red Sox have to realize this as well, but the current economy might not allow them to make the final push to get this deal done.
What Money he will get? 7 years $160 Million, I don’t think he will get the 180-200 Million he desires.
Stephon Marbury Courtside for Knicks/Lakers Game!
December 17, 2008
Total Pro Sports - Is this Fathomable? Yes, Stephon (Starbury) Marbury was seen sitting court side as a fan to watch his Knicks play the Lakers. He is making $21 million to sit courtside and watch his team.
I understand that he's a disruption to the team and that not a lot of people like him, but come on already, either trade the guy, buy him out, or just play him. Sources say that the Celtics are interested in acquiring Marbury's services. Many believe that this will be a good fit for Stephon because Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allenwill keep him in place. While other experts believe that it's a waste of time for Marbury to play on any team, let alone the reigning champs, the Boston Celtics.
Mats Sundin: A Ranger or Canuck?
December 16, 2008
Total Pro Sports - Many hockey experts believe that Mats Sundin will be back on skates come Christmas, but does Mats even know where he's going? We know he likes to play poker and recently signed on to play with Team Poker Stars as an International Celebrity Ambassador.
Sources out of Toronto and the Fan 590 radio station say that he will sign with the New York Rangers some time this week, claiming he has a verbal agreement with G.M. Glen Sather. This has also been reported by another reliable source from 103.5 another station owned by Rogers Communication in Toronto.
Other sources revealed that he just rejected a deal from the Philadelphia Flyers estimated at about 2 years, $16 million and another deal from the Chicago Blackhawks. Money terms of the Blackhawks deal were not released. Many believe that he does not know where he's going yet, but has narrowed it down to the Vancouver Canucks, or the New York Rangers.
2009 MLB Free Agent Projections
December 3, 2008
Total Pro Sports - Next week, in lovely Las Vegas, Nevada the Major League Baseball General Manager meetings will take place. This is where the top 2009 MLB Free Agents will be discussed and most likely have new teams after the meetings are done.
If you ask me Las Vegas is the #1 city in the world (Gambling, Alcohol and beautiful Women) how can you beat the those big three? Especially if you have money you can bet this time spent in Vegas will be 100 times better.
So do you think Las Vegas is good spot for the General Manager's to meet? People with money and Vegas are no to good mixtures. These meetings should be held in a location where nobody could get themselves into trouble, (Naples, Florida, Scottsdale Arizona, San Diego, California).
Hopefully by the end of these meetings we will see which teams will dig deep into their pockets to sign these 2009 MLB Free Agents.
The Glass Man Wants $10 Million!!!!
October 31, 2008
Total Pro Sports - You ask, who is the "Glass Man"?..........Would you pay a "Glass Man" $10 million a year if you knew he has had a history of past injuries? Is he really worth a $100 Million investment for a company?
If you haven't guessed yet, The Glass man is Marian Gaborik of the Minnesota Wild.
Why is his nickname "The Glass Man", you ask? Compare glass to Marian Gaborik, very delicate and easily breakable. Do you see the similarities?
Since the 2003-2004 season Marian Gaborik has played 65 games twice, 77 games once, 48 games once and now this season, with only a month of hockey, Marian Gaborik has only played 2 games. He always seems to be injured, but manages to put up some big statistics while playing in only a few games.
Senators Looking To Make Moves
October 27, 2008
Total Pro Sports - Reports out of Ottawa, have the Senators looking for a puck moving defenceman like the Vancouver Canucks, Mattias Ohlund. They are also shopping around looking for a goalie, no reports on who they might be interested in.
Bryan Murray often receives phone calls for there top players, Dany Heatley, Jason Spezza, Antoine Vermette, Chris Phillips and Anton Volchenkov. Unless the deal is right and in favor of the Sens there is no chance the Senators will trade any of these players.
"It appeared, at the moment, that nobody is any hurry to make many moves. When you get to the 10-game mark, you'll probably get a little more interest in talking," said Murray. "
Sundin Still Interested In Toronto
October 25, 2008
If Mats Sundin decides to resume his NHL career this season, he won't limit his options to Stanley Cup contenders.
A source close to Sundin said yesterday the 37-year-old free-agent centre still has strong interest in returning to the Toronto Maple Leafs for a 14th season.
Sundin has been intrigued by the Leafs' youth movement and new head coach Ron Wilson's system, and will keep a watchful eye on how the team develops over the next few weeks.
Sundin had a physical exam in Toronto this week and soon will embark on a two-week conditioning stint in Los Angeles. He will then decide whether he will return to the NHL.
A source close to Sundin says the 37-year-old free-agent centre still has strong interest in returning to the Toronto Maple Leafs for a 14th season.

Several NHL clubs have been in contact with Sundin's agent, J.P. Barry, since the season began.
But no formal negotiations will start until Sundin gives his representation the green light.
"He hasn't committed to anything, including skating yet," Barry said. "I will be patient."
The longer Sundin waits, the more options he will have because more interested teams would have salary cap room for a prorated contract.
The Leafs made Sundin a one-year, $7-million (U.S.) offer that included a no-trade clause last July, and that offer remains on the table.
"No, there hasn't been any contact with him," Toronto general manager Cliff Fletcher said. "I hear he's started to train, but we haven't talked to him."
The Maple Leafs, Vancouver Canucks, New York Rangers, Tampa Bay Lightning, Ottawa Senators and Philadelphia Flyers have expressed interest in Sundin's services.
The Leafs could use Sundin's offence, but would be mindful to stay with their plan to develop a young core of players through ice time in key situations
