Adam ‘Pacman’ Jones Plans To Sue ESPN

January 8, 2009

Pacman JonesTotal Pro Sports - Pacman Jones just continues to find himself in trouble.  Is it possible that he ever keeps his name out of the media for the wrong reasons.  When will he ever realize that all eyes are on him?

The Dallas Cowboys have now cut all ties with Adam 'Pacman' Jones after ESPN reported that piece was scheduled to air on TV Sunday in which three Atlanta-area men allege that Jones arranged for someone to shoot at them two months after the football player was suspended by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell in 2007.

Adam Jones had this to say to the The Dallas Morning News about a potential lawsuit against ESPN.

Adam Jones is denying an ESPN report that he arranged for someone to shoot at three men outside a Atlanta night club.

In fact an angry Jones said he's planning legal action against the network.

"It will be a lawsuit in a week against ESPN," Jones said. "That's stupid. It's so stupid I have no more comments."

Detroit Lions Fan Gets 0-16 Tattoo

January 7, 2009

0-16 TattooTotal Pro Sports - In remembrance of the Detroit Lions 0-16 perfect season this past year, a true die hard Detroit Lions fan named Dan tattooed the Lions logo and 0-16 on his chest.  Something he wants to bring to the grave and never forget.

Dan hopes to add the Vince Lombardi Trophy for a Detroit Lions Super Bowl win right underneath the 0-16 tattoo.  The only way we see this happening is If you plan on living 100 plus years.

Idiotic or just plain old stupidity?  Who knows, but this is probably one of the dumbest sports tattoo's in history.  Something Dan will definitely regret later on in his life.

Hopefully Dan will complete his support for the Detroit Lions with Mat Millen's face tattooed on left chest, symbolizing the disarray and humiliation the Detroit Lions franchise caused the NFL over the last 7 years.

Eli Manning, Birthday Lap Dance, Nice!

January 7, 2009

Eli Manning and WifeTotal Pro Sports - Giants quarterback Eli Manning celebrated his 28th birthday last Friday night at Manhattan club Tenjune.  Along for the ride were Shaun O'hara, Brandon Jacobs, David Diehl, Amani Toomer and Kevin Boss and of course his lovely wife Abby, who apparently gets frisky after some tequila shots.

Apparently a spy from The New York Post said Eli's wife, Abby, "gave him a special lap dance" while Beyonce's hit, "Single Ladies," blared on the sound system.

"They were trying to hide, but everyone on the dance floor could see them."

How does a superstar athlete like Eli Manning hide from a club filled with people and unidentified spy's from the media?  We don't know, but you better try harder next time Eli cause your Lap Dance is all over the net.

(Big) Ben Roethlisberger Falls Down While Bowling

January 7, 2009

Ben RoethlisbergerTotal Pro Sports - How would you feel if you were the owner, coach, teammate or fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and saw this video of your franchise quarterback falling down while bowling just days before your huge divisional Playoff Matchup against the San Diego Chargers?

Well, to me, this makes no sense.  Why is he doing anything before a playoff game?

Just last year he almost killed himself riding a motorcycle with no helmet and i know bowling isn't dangerous, but come on Big Ben, you should be studying your opponents plays not bowling before a playoff game.

It doesn't matter if your bowling, dancing or shoveling the snow any freak accident can happen out of the blue.  Even though stipulations are made in players contracts that some of these activities can't be done while the season is still on, players still do it.

Drew Brees Named Offense Player of the Year

January 6, 2009

Drew BreesTotal Pro Sports-  Drew Brees from the New Orleans Saints has been named the Offensive player of the year by the Associated Press, for the 2008 season.  He becomes the first player from the New Orleans Saints to win the award since it was created in 1972.  He is also becomes the first player with a mole on his face to win the award.

Brees had a solid season posting 5069 yards, 34 touchdowns, and 17 interceptions.  The main reason why he won the award was due to his inflated yardage totals, which came close to surpassing Hall of Famer Dan Marino's record.  If New Orleans was actually a competitive team he would not have passed for over 5000 yards and would not have won this award.

Football: The Word Game

January 6, 2009

Australian Football LeagueTotal Pro Sports - After spending time in both Europe and Australia over the past two years, it became surprising to learn how important the game of "football" is all over the world.  However, to many North American's, the term "football" is synonymous with the National Football League (NFL).  As many of our educated readers know, football in Europe is reserved for the game in which we call "soccer". Given the passion Europeans share for "soccer", they laugh at the prospect of calling a game which involves passing and catching a ball with your hands "football".  Adding further complication to this debate is the unique Australian game known to many as Aussie Rules Football.

The Australian Football League (AFL) is a game that involves hands and feet, and provides a rough and physical product for spectators, much like American football.  In order to differentiate the two games, Australians often refer to the NFL as "grid-iron" and almost never refer to it as football.  This is similar to the way in which North Americans reserve the term football for the NFL and have nicely coined the phrase "soccer" to refer to that other game so to speak.

The New L.T.

January 5, 2009

Darren SprolesTotal Pro Sports-  The latest news out of San Diego is that super star running back Ladainian Tomlinson will miss the rest of the playoffs.  Anyone who watched the game against the Indianapolis Colts can see that the Chargers are still in good shape at the running back position thanks to the emergence of the diminutive Darren Sproles.

Sproles, is the latest San Deigo back to step out of Tomlinson's shadow and produce big time.  Micheal Turner, also Ladanians backup at one time, signed with the Atlanta Falcons this past off season and had himself a career year.  On Saturday night, Sproles had a career day as he accumulated over 300 yards on offense and special teams combined.  If Sproles can continue his solid play the San Diego Chargers have a shot at going deep into the playoffs.

Tomlinson may be the latest example of a running back who is running on an empty tank.  This is also known as "Shaun Alexander Syndrome", or more commonly referred to as SAS.  This usually occurs when backs near the age of 30, and because of all of the wear and tear on their bodies they can no longer play at an elite level.

I hope that LT is not suffering from SAS because I have enjoyed watching him play over the years.  L.T. has always been regarded as one of the classiet players in the entire NFL and I would hate to see him retire before he wins a Super Bowl.
