To all Italy Fans and gamblers!
June 14, 2008
I got into this argument yesterday with a degenerate buddie so I decided it was a great post and life lesson for all gamblers out there. We wont name names here but well call this person "Don Carbs".
I called up "Don Carbs" last night to see what was going on and if he had made his way to some crazy party I was also invited to go to. When he answered I heard no noise and it seemed to be very quiet! So I proceeded to ask where he was? It seemed to me as something happend or something was wrong, all he said was he didn't want to talk.
I stopped took the phone off my ear and had to look at the name on the screen, "Don Carbs" it read, ok so I called the right person. I said are you upset Italy lost, he said "yes". I proceeded to call him a donkey and a whole other bunch of names that I would rather keep off this post. All Don Carbs said "they had to win!" I knew from those words "Don Carbs" had placed a wager on Italy for some stupid reason. All I said was how much? the phone went silent! he never responded. Lets just say, I've known him for a while so just by that I know he lost what some people could use to put as a down payment on a car. I just don't mean a Pontiac Sunfire, I mean a BMW 5 series!
I said to Don Carbs why would you bet Italy, when that's your team? Haven't you heard of the number 1 rule in sports betting? "NEVER BET YOU FAVORITE TEAM!" Again he responded like a true donkey degenerate, "But they had to win". Sometimes it just doesn't sink.
I really don't know how many times I have to tell people this and how it doesn't process in there heads, "NEVER BET YOU FAVORITE TEAM!". How can you bet on a team you like? don't you think they are always going to win? Remember a team never has to win, anything can happen in sports.
The morale of the story is "NEVER BET YOU FAVORITE TEAM!". Just go watch the game and cheer for your team to win cause you like them not cause you have money on them. This will save all you degenerates out there some money!

Yesterday's rain out came through for us pushing our overall record to 4-3 on the year.
Today were taking the same game that we took for our first play in the year, the Devil Rays/Rangers under (9.5). We lost this game back on May 26th and in the top half of the ninth inning the managed to score 3 runs to push the game over 9, now we get an extra half point to work with.
Pitching Notes
- Kazmir, who's given up two runs and struck out 33 batters over his last 33 innings, is 2-0 with a 1.86 ERA in 5 starts versus Texas.
- Padilla - 5-0 with a 2.82 ERA in his last seven starts, against the Devil Rays he is 1-2 with an 8.64 ERA.

Overall Record (4-3)

Last nights pick ended our hot streak, I guess we gave Brad Penny to much credit for what he did in the past. We will give credit to Jeff Francis "The Canadian Boy" for pitching a gem on the road. He reminded me of the pitcher he was last year. Hopefully, when the Rockies fianlly become healthy they can start playing the way they did last year.
Todays pick were taking the St. Louis Caridnals (-118). The pitching matchup Cardinals Wellemeyer (6-1, 3.16) vs Nationals Lannan (4-5, 3.52).
Again were going with the away favorite it seems to be a trend in our picks lately, but will go with whats working for us. The Cardinals are 5-0 this year against the struggling and injured Nationals. The Cardinals are also 5-0 against National League East opponents, while the Nationals are 8-10 against Central teams. The Nationals also have a losing record at going 13-16, while the Cardinals are 14-12 on the road.
Pitching Notes
- Wellemeyer is 0-1 with a 5.40 ERA and a save in seven relief appearances against Washington (24-35).
- Lannan's only career start against the Cardinals on April 6 resulted in a 3-0 loss as he allowed two runs and seven hits in 6 2-3 innings.

Overall Record 3-3

June 2, 2008
Ok so were back on track evening our overall record to 2-2 for the year. Realistcally our record should be 4-0 but thats gambling for you.
Todays pick were taking the Anaheim Angels (-130). The pitching matchup - Angels Santana (7-2, 3.09) vs Mariners Washburn (2-6, 6.54). Yes thats right were taking a visiting favorite, how can we resist on a matchup like this. Sanatana has finally come into his own and is pitching like the ace of the staff and Washburn is exactly like his last named washed up. Anaheim is a proven team and one of the elites in the MLB, a team like this will have no difficulty winning on the road. Unlike Seattle who cant seem to find a way of putting the pieces to the puzzle together, they struggle at home and on the road.
Pitching Notes
- the right-hander was 10-21 with a 7.14 ERA on the road, but he's turned that around by going 4-1 with a 3.83 ERA in six outings away from Anaheim in 2008. Santana is 1-1 with a 9.88 ERA in three career starts at Safeco, but he's 4-0 with a 3.86 ERA in his last six starts against the Mariners.
- Jarrod Washburn (2-6, 6.54) Washburn, who pitched for the Angels from 1998-2005, gave up four runs and 10 hits over six innings on April 19 to fall to 4-3 with a 4.47 ERA in eight career outings against his former team.
