Total Pro Sports – It always feels good to hit a towering home run shot, but it has to feel extra special when you win $25,000 for a fan in the process. That’s what Ken Griffey Jr. did yesterday in Minnesota as his home run ball went through the Subway “Free Hit” target in the outfield bleachers.

Stepping to the plate in the 8th inning with one runner on and one out, trailing 2-0 against the Twins, Griffey’s long ball tied the game for his Mariners. As he trots around the bases, the ball is shown flying through the open target, and that’s when announcers realize he may have just won a lucky fan some nice cash.

We aren’t exactly sure how the banner promotion works, but we can only hope that Griffey’s homer qualified for the give-a-way and someone is getting paid right now.
