Among Stoudemire’s list of credentials are his six All-Star appearances during his previous employment, great conditioning and athletic ability, and an uncanny ability to sell shoes and tickets to basketball games.. Needless to say, that was easily enough to earn Amar’e his black & white stripped shirt, a name tag, and a spot on the Foot Locker floor.

Here is a look at Amar’e taking part in Foot Locker’s stringent hiring process.

The likely playoff-bound New York Knicks. How long has it been since you heard those two terms being used to describe them? This year is different. In the off-season they acquired the beast known as Amare Stoudemire.

Last night Stoudemire and the Knicks hosted the Toronto Raptors at Madison Square Garden. Stoudemire went off in a big way, scoring 34 points on 15-27 shooting, including a perfect 4-4 from the foul stripe. He recorded a game-high 14 rebounds, blocked two shots and dished out two assists.

Most impressive is that Stoudemire did much of his work when the game was on the line. He scored 18 of his 34 points in the 4th quarter. How dominant has he been lately? Stoudemire has scored 30 or more points in six straight games and has had three consecutive games with double figures in the fourth quarter. That’s ballin’.

The Knicks have won six straight and 10 of their last 12. They have the best road record in the Eastern Conference. It’s safe to say that Amare Stoudemire was one of the best acquisitions of the off-season, and he has “The Stat Line of the Night” for 12/8/10.

ESPN is set to release another one of their “The Body” issues where they feature popular athletes baring it all for the camera. One of those athletes just so happens to be Amar’e Stoudemire, who appears to have gotten the short end of the stick on this deal, if you know what I mean.

As I watch Amar’e leap into that pool, I can’t help but wonder which of the following best explains his “deficiency”:

A) This is an incredibly cruel photoshop job done by the people at ESPN.

B) Amar’e has tucked away his manhood, creating a self-made mangina.

C) Amar’e really does have a mangina.

D) A couple of fingers are all that is really needed to cover Stoudemire’s private parts.

With Phoenix in a 2-0 hole in the Western Conference Finals against the Lakers, Sunday’s game was do or die. Amare chose do. He scored 42 points, going 14-22 from the field. He also got to the line 18 times, converting on 14 of them. His ability to get to the basket for easy shots frustrated the Laker big men. At one point in the first quarter, they had sent him to the line on 4 of the first 9 possessions. He also added 11 rebounds in the effort.

The Suns are now down 2 games to 1, but a win in game 4 could tie up the series at 2-2 and make the whole series up for grabs. While Boston will be waiting in the East, it looks like the Lakers path to a ring may get a bit hairy. Kobe is at the peak of his game, but when Amare, Nash and the Suns are firing on all cylinders like they did last night, it opens the door for a possible Suns Western Conference Championship. For now, Amare wins the “Stat Line of the Night”.

This is no easy task as the Spurs have owned the Suns in playoff basketball for years.

So Amare Stoudemire stepped in and basically gave the basketball equivalent of saying “My house”. Stoudemire ripped down board after board to help Phoenix control the floor and the Suns took game 2 110-102. They now lead the series 2-0.

Stoudemire lead all players with 11 rebounds, 4 of them swiped off the offensive glass. The Suns out-rebounded the Spurs 49-37, and that proved to be a huge difference. Stoudemire also led the Suns with 23 points. He shot only 6-15 from the field, but he kept getting to the line. He led all players in free throws and attempts, hitting 11-13 from the foul line. He added a blocked shot and stayed out of foul trouble.

It’s over to San Antonio for game 3. If the Suns can take a game in Texas, they may finally get the Spurs playoff monkey off their back. Amare Stoudemire has The Stat Line of the Night for 5/5/10.

Amare Stoudemire scored 30 points on 11-19 shooting. His variety of dunks, lay-ups, and jumpers was too much for the Wolves to handle. He also got to the line 9 times, hitting on 8 of those attempts. Some people argue that you can tell when Amare isn’t trying when his rebounding numbers dip below double digits. I guess that wasn’t a problem yesterday, as he notched 17 rebounds in the victory. Toss 3 assists and a block in there and you’ve got yourself one of his better nights of the season.

The Phoenix Suns, who have won 8 of their last 10 games, are rolling into the playoffs as one of the hottest teams in the NBA. With Steve Nash handing out the assists, a variety of solid role players, and Amare playing like a beast under the basket, the Suns look to be well-positioned to make a solid run in the playoffs. Amare can dominate on any given night, and yesterday he rolled to another ”Stat Line of the Night”.

But why the Suns would ever want to trade him is a mystery to many fans. Big men that can score from the outside and the post, put the ball on the floor, rebound and run the floor are few and far between. Stoudemire is one of those players. He can take over games and he did that again last night against the Clippers.

The Clippers were somehow hanging with the Suns and even led by one point at the half. I guess that’s when Amare had seen enough. Amare was throwing down his trademark violent dunks and hitting everything else too. In the 3rd quarter he hit on all six of his field-goal attempts and scored 15 points.

Stoudemire ended up with 30 points on 12-16 from the floor, and added 14 rebounds, 3 blocks and 2 steals. His dominance allowed the Suns to pull away to a 127-101 win in LA. Nobody knows where Stoudemire will be next year, but for now he has The Stat Line of the Night for 3/3/10.

It’s good to see a team having fun together. The Suns are no exception. Everyone who loves excitement and scoring in basketball has been relieved to see the Suns return to the up-tempo style of play that earned their offense the nickname “7 seconds or less”. Although they haven’t gone entirely back to that philosophy, they have clearly abandoned the slow-down game they were trying to embrace last season.

The up-tempo game clearly plays to Nash and Stoudemire’s strengths, but maybe there is something going on in the locker room that has helped this team right the ship. Steve Nash has always been a goofy guy, but now the rest of the team seems to be embracing the silliness. This music video they made may be a small peek into what has become a great clubhouse chemistry. That chemistry has been contributing to their success as much as anything. With Marion and his whining gone, Shaq out of town, and now Amare seemingly settled with his situation in Phoenix, this team is coming together and showing it on and off the court.

Now to say that a group of grown men singing “All Night Long” like a bunch of idiots is the equivalent of team chemistry would be foolish, but it is evidence of a greater change going on with that team. They sure sound terrible though, right? I mean they definitely shold not be quitting their day jobs, that’s for sure.

Stoudemire was injured during the Suns 142-119 victory over the Clippers on Wednesday night. He had 42 points that game. With the playoffs starting in eight weeks, and the Suns on the outside looking in, this may be the end of the season for the superstar big man. The surgery was today to repair a partially detached retina and news releases state that he wont be ready for physical activity for eight weeks.

This may be the final nail int he Suns coffin for the season, but if they manage to find themselves in the playoffs, they could be dangerous to whoever they face off against once Stoudemire is back. Whatever the case, it should be an interesting final push for the playoffs in Phoenix.

Here are the highlights of the game. It doesn’t show exactly where he got hurt but maybe it was from him whipping his eyes because he couldn’t believe what he saw on the scoreboard. If only Zach Randolph was in this game again. I could only imagine how tempted he was to throw some more punches.

“The Bulls may acquire Raptors forward Chris Bosh, and Toronto may receive Suns forward Amare Stoudemire as part of a three-team trade before Thursday’s deadline, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. The Suns would acquire a package of players and draft picks from the Bulls. Chicago’s Drew Gooden and his expiring $7.2 million contract, Tyrus Thomas and a first-round pick would likely be parts of the deal.”(SportingNews)

If I were Brian Coleangelo, I wouldn’t make this deal. He knows first hand that when the Suns had Amare and Marion, they didn’t win jack. So why he bring them to Toronto? I think that if I was a Bulls fan I would be loving this deal because Bosh would make them a much better team. The Suns would be getting a nice package, which would be fair value for Stoudemire.

Is this deal going to happen? Not likely. I still think that the best option for the Suns is to trade Amare to Bulls straight up for a similar package of players and picks.
