Not quite.

While Federer was hitting balls with his usual precision, en route to the 7-5, 6-2, 6-2 victory, Kudryavtsev was busy proving that he may not have the accuracy or power of his opponent, but he is still capable of threatening teenage ball boys with his frighteningly inaccurate (or accurate, depending on whether you believe he was attempting to come within inches of the boy’s head) backhand.

Federer can win all the trophies he’d like, but I bet he’s never scared a ball boy quite like Kudrayavtsev’s near-deadly shot did.  Check it out.

This kid is clearly one of those ball boys.

After refusing to retrieve the ball for the Anderlecht goalkeeper in an effort to waste time with the home team Lierse desperately holding on to a 1-1 draw, the young ball boy appears to challenge Silvio Allaj Proto to a fight.  Proto declines the offer, as you would expect, but that was not the last he would see of his mini counterpart.

Following the game the ball boy continues to call out Proto.  And once again, the Anderlecht keeper declines the offer.

Moral of the story: As long as this ball boy is on Lierse’s side, no opposing goalkeeper is safe.

Only a few weeks after witnessing Bo “the Bailer” and Sara Saco break up over a foul ball, Kevin and Jacki have been brought together by one (or should we say five).

Kevin does owe much of his success to the A’s bullpen, who not only pointed Jacki out in the first place, but also provided her with the fifth and final ball, which had writing on it suggesting that she provide Kevin with a phone number.  Jacki obliged and the two have been hitting it off quite well ever since.  They recently embarked upon their first date together (picture of the happy couple at LaFondue above), but not before a visit with the people of ESPN’s Sportscenter.

Well this ball boy for the Oakland Athletics showed that he is capable of doing just that.

With the children seated in the front row reaching their arms out with all their might in an attempt to persuade the ball boy into giving them a souvenir, this ladies’ man had just one thing on his mind: “Where can I find a hot girl to share my ball with?”

During last night’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays, he found that special someone and shared not one, but two balls with her (makes sense), much to the chagrin of the children and parents in attendance.  You simply have to love the composure of this young lad.  Even with a course of boos raining down on him, he keeps his cool and seeks out the lovely young lady in the second row.  And after receiving a kiss the first time, he is smart enough to go back for more.

So as a tribute to this ball boy’s work with the ladies, we give you Sade’s “Smooth Operator.”  Keep on workin’ it Kevin.

To be brutally honest, we don’t know what his name is.  But what we do know is that this Yankees ball boy knows how to work his glove.

The catch alone was quite spectacular, but what makes it even more impressive is the composure this ball boy shows as he hangs on to his helmet in the process.  That grab has minor league contract written all over it.

With the Yankees in town to play the Blue Jays, the youngster along the third base line made a nice grab on a Robinson Cano grounder. Unfortunately the ball was ruled fair and Cano was rewarded with a double.  As for the ball boy, he would have his glove confiscated by third base umpire Gary Darling and turned over to authorities.

Later in the game it was the Jays’ mascot, Ace, getting in on the act as he used caution tape to prohibit the ball boy from leaving his seat and interfering with any more balls.

Tournament Official:  Well done, you made it there and back in pretty good time.  You’re not opposed to kneeling for a long period of time, are you? Points in tennis can last a decent amount of time.

Potential Ball Boy: (out of breath) No, sir.

Potential Ball Boy’s Mother:  He’s never had a broken bone in his body.  He’s healthy and full of endurance, that boy!

Tournament Official:  Very well.  Last question, son.  Do you have a potty problem?

Mother:  I beg your pardon!? I find that to be highly irrelevant.  Don’t answer that, son.

Tournament Official:  It’s standard now to ask whether or not the ball boys can hold their bowels because it delays the match significantly if they can’t.

And that’s a true story (peeing your pants delays a match, not this interview process). A first round match between American Donald Young and Belgian Christophe Rochus was delayed 40 minutes on Tuesday because a ball boy tinkled himself and the court.

Officials had to throw sawdust down over it and use a blower to dry the court.  When play resumed nearly an hour later, the boy’s pride was most likely gone to shambles and I’m sure he’s now made future try outs for ball boys awkward as can be.  One thing’s for sure, his urine was not the secret to making his job any easier.

Poor kid, but peeing your pants on the job like that is not cool.  If it’s cool, then consider me Miles Davis.

With time ticking off the clock, and his team down 1-0, the Stuttgart goalie went to retrieve a ball after it had gone out of bounds, but the ball boy was not about to do him any favors.  Instead, the young man, much to the delight of the Hannover fans, played a little game of go-fetch with the German keeper.

With Lehmann directly in front of the ball boy asking for a ball, one was delivered over his head, leaving Jens standing there, shoulders shrugged in disbelief.  Being a goalie, he seemed to let that one slip out of his reach a little too easily.  Maybe the ball boy was just testing the veteran’s ability to stop a ball as he approaches the age of 40.  Needless to say, Lehmann failed this one.

Llorda was injured early in the first set when he went to chase a ball and crashed into the umpires chair.  He also knocked over a ball girl in the process, and both were slow to get up.  The Frenchman would manage to get to his feet and helped the ball girl up as well before giving her a hug.  Unfortunately he would not last much longer, retiring after the next point because of an injury he sustained during the fall.

Haas was determined to put on a show for the deprived crowed, so he found another opponent.  The young ball boy would rally with Haas for a bit, and Tommy gave a few other ball boys and girls a shot at him as well before leaving the court to a standing ovation.  Now we will wait to see if any sign of fatigue settles in as a result of those extra couple rallies (turn your sarcasm detectors on here).
