Surprisingly, the only thing he couldn’t do on this occasion was win the opening tip-off. Check it out.

This massive crowning of Sullinger would account for two of Barlow’s 14 points on the evening (tying his season-high). But despite coming out on the losing end of this highlight reel play, it was Sullinger and his Buckeyes who would come out on top where it counts, as the highly-touted forward recorded 18 points during Ohio State’s 87-84 victory.

As for Barlow and his Boilermaker teammates, they leave Value City Arena with a hard fought loss to the nation’s No. 3 ranked team, and the following highlight reel clip.

While Rubio was busy catching up with fellow Spaniard Pau Gasol, Kobe intervened, asking the two if they were talking about the upcoming Summer Games in London. That led to the following exchange between the two:

Kobe: “You talking about London?”

Gasol: “Oh yeah.”

Rubio to Kobe: “You gonna be there?”

Kobe: “Of course.”

Rubio: “You know you’re gonna get the silver medal, right? You know that!”

Kobe: “Sheeeet. I’m taking bets. If I win I get the key to Barcelona.”

Rubio: “I’ll bet what you want.”

Kobe: “I’ll take it.”

Spain to beat the USA for the men’s basketball gold medal at the 2012 London Games? That’s quite the bold statement from Ricky. We’ll see if he and his Spanish teammates can back that up come July 27 when the Summer Olympics kick off.

In the meantime, you can watch the entire exchange between the two international stars in the video below.

Ryan Potocnik of Charlotte Christian High School had his dream come true recently, when he scored the game-winning basket during the 2012 Hilton Invitational in Norcross, Georgia. However, that dream turned out to be more of a nightmare, as his game-winning basket was actually scored in his own net, giving the opposing team from Norcross the 58-57 lead with only seconds remaining. The hosts would go on to add two more free-throws to earn the 60-57 victory.

Unfortunately for Potocnik, this incident probably won’t make him the cool guy on Charlotte Christian’s campus anytime soon, but I’m sure their loving him in Norcross at the moment. You can see why in the video below.

Following his highly publicized marriage and subsequent split with Kim Kardashian, Humph has catapulted himself to the top of the NBA’s list of most hated players. That has been evident during the first month of the season, as he has withstood a barrage of boos from the opposing fans inside every arena he’s stepped into.

And based on the reactions he has received from fans across America thus far, I’ll simply assume that this dunk by Blake Griffin over the head of Humphries will likely go down as the year’s best, according to most Humph haters.

Robert Parish enjoyed a 21-year Hall-of-Fame career, spending 15 of those seasons with the Celtics. Parish was part of three Celtic championship teams and also won one as a member of the Chicago Bulls in his final season. He was a nine time All-Star who is most remembered for his great defensive play, his jump-shot and his longevity. His 1,611 career games played over 21 seasons are both NBA records. Parish’s number was retired at halftime during a Celtics game against the Indiana Pacers, which held some significance.

What made the night even more special was that his former long-time teammate Larry Bird made his return to Boston as head coach of the Pacers. Parish, Bird and fellow Celtic great Kevin McHale were all selected as three of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History.

Here is Bird with a great assist on a Parish dunk.

You have to give Louisiana-Lafayette head coach Bob Marlin credit. With his team tied and only 21 seconds remaining in overtime, he knew he needed to come up with the perfect play to get his team the victory, and he did just that. However, we should mention that it involved the Ragin’ Cajuns playing with six men on the floor during the final moments of the game.

Following a timeout during last night’s game between the Cajuns and the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers, Louisiana-Lafayette sent six players onto the court to take on the Hilltoppers’ five players. The referees didn’t seem to notice it, and neither did the Western Kentucky coaching staff. And by the time anyone did notice what had just happened, Louisiana-Lafayette’s Elfrid Payton had already scored the game-winning basket and the Ragin’ Cajuns were already celebrating their victory.

It was a strange sequence of events, and things only got stranger this morning when Hilltoppers head coach Ken McDonald was fired for his inability to come up with an effective 5-on-6 defense…

…or maybe it had something to do with Western Kentucky’s 5-11 record. Whatever the case may be, you can check out all of the action from Louisiana-Lafayette’s last-minute power-play in the video below.
