The Miami Hurricanes entered the game as 11.5 point favorites and were expected to repeat as National Champions. Their roster included several players on both offense and defense who would go on to have successful NFL careers, including Andre Johnson, Willis McGahee, Kellen Winslow Jr., Jonathan Vilma and the late Sean Taylor. Despite being heavy favorites, the Hurricanes were in a dogfight from the start, as the game remained close throughout its entirety. On the last play of regulation, Ohio State kicker Todd Sievers hit a 40-yard field goal to tie the game at 17 and send it into overtime.

After the teams exchanged touchdowns in the first overtime, the Buckeyes would get the ball first in the second overtime and scored a touchdown to go up 31-24. Ohio’s defense then stopped the Hurricanes on 4th and goal on the 1 yard line to complete the upset.

Here is the final play of the game.

There is no denying the fact that Auburn University’s victory over Oregon at the 2010 BCS National Championship Game left a bitter taste in the mouth of every Alabama Crimson Tide fan. Thankfully, the Tide supporters do not have to look too far for some consolation. One simple glance at their total number of national championship titles clearly shows that despite Auburn’s recent victory, the Tigers still have a lot of catching up to do.

After all, 13 is greater than 2. It’s simple mathematics, even for an Auburn fan.

Most people were likely expecting a shootout in Glendale last night during the BCS National Championship Game between the Auburn Tigers and the Oregon Ducks. What they were treated to instead was a stellar performance from both defenses during this low scoring physical affair.

The physicality appeared to hit its peak near the end of the second quarter following a kickoff return as Auburn’s Eric Smith delivered a vicious knee to the rear of an unsuspecting Dion Jordan, sending the Ducks’ defensive end head first into the ground.

The cheap-shot left Jordan with a bloody face and his team with good field position with 1:47 left in the half. Unfortunately, the Ducks offense was unable to capitalize. That appeared to be the theme of the night as they fell to the Tigers by a score of 22-19.

Here is a look at Smith’s dirty knee to the back of Jordan.

Tim Tebow showed last night that he of the most calmest and most respected players in college football. He let lose and showed his emotions giving the Oklahoma Sooners DB Nic Harris a famous Gator Chomp as he drove his Florida Gators to the 2009 BCS National Championship title last night.

Also known to most in Gainesville as “Superman” he won this years Wuerffel Trophy for community service. Tim Tebow if you didn’t know is a devoted Christian, and he showed it last night wearing John 3:16 under his eyes during last nights game.;

“For God so loved the world, as to give his only begotten Son; that whosoever believeth in him, may not perish, but may have life everlasting.” John 3:16

A true warrior Tim Tebow will go down as one of the greatest College Football quarterbacks in history. A resume that most football players dream to have, well just have wait and see if Tebow will lead his Florida Gators team to repeat Championships next year.
