Motor City Bowl Game Preview

After opening the season 1-5, a bowl game seemed bleak for the defending Sun Belt champion Floria Atlantic Owls, however, since that time the Owls have reeled off 5 wins in 6 games and have received an invitation to the Motor City Bowl.

The Owls feature an offense that can put up points against inferior competition, but they have struggled against better teams this year. The defense has been average at best this year may have a tough time slowing down Central Michigan Chippewas dangerous quarterback, Dan LeFevour. The Junior quarterback led his team in passing and rushing this year, the Chippewas feature a spread type offense that resembles the one down in Gainsville. The offense can rack up points quickly, it is the defense that seems to be the problem, they allow a whopping 30.8 PPG and 424.2 YPG, numbers that are very discouraging. This game is expected to have a ton of points and the winner may be the team that does more defensively.

Motor City Bowl Game Prediction

The game will probably go over the total towards the end of the third quarter, however, we are not discussing totals. We like the Chippewas in this game because they are difficult to control offensively, Dan LeFevour should have an outstanding game against the suspect Owls defense. Central Michigan has had a good season, they would like to cap it with a bowl victory and we feel they will do just that.

Motor City Bowl Game Pick: Central Michigan Chippewas -6.5
