This time we take you to Pennsylvania, where the game was tied with only four seconds to play and Greenville High had the ball, 2nd-and-goal from the Oil City one yard line.  They could have settled for the game winning field goal to seal the victory, but as you may know, the kicking game is never a guarantee at the high school level.  So that meant they would go for it.  Needless to say, punching it in the end zone was no guarantee either, and what would ensue was nothing short of unreal.

As Greenville quarterback David Holiga went to pitch the ball to running back Dylan Zuschlag, the toss was a poor one and with the ball sitting alone in the backfield, Oil City’s Dallas Williams scooped it up and went 96 yards for the game winning touchdown.  And if this ending wasn’t already surprising enough, Greenville High, the No. 6 AA team in the state, was a three touchdown favorite.

So apparently going for the run was not all that unusual considering the size of Greenville’s offensive line and their powerful running back, according to Oil City coach Matt LaVerde.  But a toss?  It’s decisions like that which allow people like us to talk about miracle finishes like this one the following day.
