It sure is sexy seeing a good looking brunette have her hair pulled from behind.  Especially when the person doing the pulling is another female.  The only thing that seems to be missing here was a strap-on, although I don’t believe the NCAA allows those on the field during soccer games.

Thanks again Elizabeth Lambert for finally bringing some excitement to women’s soccer.

As she skates in near the goal, two boys on the white team take her to the ground.  Her team takes exception to that, and everyone comes flying out for the brawl.  The female hockey player performs admirably, going punch for punch with a couple of the white team’s players.  Eventually she goes down and stops fighting as the brawl drifts away from her.  While Elizabeth Lambert showed girls can have toughness in sports, she did it with zero class.  This girl is just standing up for herself and makes you want to cheer her on.

The craziest part of this fight is that the referees just seem to be standing around and watching.  If it were the NHL, that might be acceptable, or even a college game.  To let high school kids just fight and fight for minutes at a time without breaking it up is disturbing.  They gave the girl a chance to defend herself and get a few shots in, but that should have been the end of it.

Good thing for us it wasn’t.  That girl has a mean right hook and no one would have seen it if those irresponsible refs had been a little more conscientious.

Now that she has plenty of free time on her hands after being suspended for her actions, she is looking for a man to spend that time with.  So are you the right match for her?

That is the question Lambert is looking to have answered as she has released her own dating video hoping of finding some worthy takers out there.  So what is Elizabeth looking for in a man?  Someone who is smart, funny, preferably a New Mexican, and someone who can take what she dishes out.

Elizabeth Lambert

As these things go, this story is developing like clockwork.  Bad incident, press coverage, school takes disciplinary action (mostly to save face), then player apologizes.  Lambert viciously tackled, punched, elbowed kicked and pulled hair in a recent game and the entire thing was caught on camera.  The school has now announced that they will be suspending her indefinitely and she has issued a public statement apologizing for her actions:

“I am deeply and wholeheartedly regretful for my actions,” said Lambert. “My actions were uncalled for. I let my emotions get the best of me in a heated situation. I take full responsibility for my actions and accept any punishment felt necessary from the coaching staff and UNM administration. This is in no way indicative of my character or the soccer player that I am. I am sorry to my coaches and teammates for any and all damages I have brought upon them. I am especially sorry to BYU and the BYU women’s soccer players that were personally affected by my actions. I have the utmost respect for the BYU women’s soccer program and its players.”

As always, the apology is clearly contrived and most likely prepared by a lawyer.  My guess is she is exactly the kind of thug we saw her as in that clip, regardless of this emotionless public statement.  Will this create an outcry about violence in girls’ sports?  I haven’t heard much about it, but with the sensationalist media controlling the story, you never know.

Regardless of the apology, I’m still confident I wouldn’t want to see her in a dark alley.  Even if she made this camel toe list.  Yikes.

This was a brutal soccer match-up all across the board, but it was Lambert who made fellow collegiate athletes Brandon Spikes and LeGarrette Blount look like pansies. First, she kidney-punched a BYU player right in the back. Then she upped the ante by kicking a ball right into a fallen opponent’s grill from point-blank range. She got carded for that stunt. In between sending Cougars spiraling down left and right, she managed a couple of poorly-veiled swings. All of that’s nothing compared to her most outrageous attack of the night. After a skirmish with BYU’s Kassidy Shumway, Lambert got up and viciously yanked Shumway to the grass by her ponytail. Watch out, Troy Polamalu, because you could be next.

This just backs up what many sports fans have been saying for a long, long time — women athletes are arguably rougher than their male counterparts. No matter the sport, you are just as likely to witness fisticuffs during a women’s game as you are a men’s one.
